It's Monday, Guatever!

It's Monday, guys, and I'm feeling Guatever about it. ;) Haha, I'm so punny guys. SO punny. Just kidding, because pointing out the fact that I think I'm punny probably just classifies me as being a tad bit nerdy, especially since I wasn't the one to come up with that pun. ;) Anyway, this lovely hilarious and punny tshirt was one of the items I got when my Aunt came to visit from Guatemala. I flippin' love it. It's like saying whatever except it's spelled with the g-u-a-t-e of Guatemala. What's better than a punny tshirt that simultaneously shows your country pride? Nothin' I say. Ya know, I never used to consider myself a particularly patriotic sort of girl, but these past couple of months that my family and I have been hosting friends and family from our home country it's been really striking me how much I do actually have a good dosage of country pride. I love being Guatemalan, and I wouldn't want it any other way. In other news, though, I just went through a mildly embarrassing medical appointment. Want to hear all the dirty and gritty details? No? Well, you're gettin' 'em anyway. ;)
I'm going to be participating in one of those wisdom teeth removal research study things and today I had to go in to get some tests and the like preformed. First things first, though...apparently I've shrunk!!!!! Oh, sad, sad day! Apparently I'm only 5'2 and a half! Oh, well. I'm fine with it. It's cool. Among the other tests I had to take were, getting blood drawn, a urine test, and some heart rate thingy. I think the urine test was probably THE most awkward of them all. Before we begin this most avid discussion of why peeing on command is weird, let's just get something straight. I like to stay SUPER hydrated. In fact, my level of hydration is rather a point of pride with me. I know, it's weird. As if I'm ever going to have a "how hydrated are you" competition. Anyway, of course the one day I need to take a urine test is the one day I didn't properly hydrate in the morning. Oh, and can we just call this a pee test? Urine just sounds so weird and off putting. It's just one of those creepy words that I don't like to say. Kind of like how some people are embarrassed to say words like lover or underwear. Urine is my embarrassed to say word. Even, though, I've said it like 5 times already. La! Anyway, moving on, let's talk about why this pee test was awkward and mildly embarrassing. I mean there's the obvious reason that peeing into a little cup is just weird in and of itself. Plus, I'm just always freaking out that I'd be the simpleton to mess up something so obvious as a pee test. Weird hidden fears, right? Add to that the fact that I was SUPER dehydrated this morning and I'm sure you can get the picture of why that would be embarrassing. Anyway, after the pee test I had to go set my little cup down in an office down the hall. I walk in, set my cup down, and sit down to wait for the nurse to come in and take my blood. In walks the nurse, notices my cup on the table and asks if it's mine. In an attempt to be sarcastically funny I said, "nah it's someone else's." It was a bad joke. He thought I was being serious and was going to figure out whose it was until I explained that, "nope that is indeed my pee in that there cup, doc. I just have a really bad sense of humor"...and apparently have a tendency to talk like a country folk hillbilly when I'm embarrassed because I don't know where the "that, there" in that sentence came from? I promise I can speak with proper grammar!! He then proceeded to ask me how I was doing, and sadistic little old me decided to go in for another sad attempt at being funny by pointing at my cup like an idiot and going, "Haha, apparently really dehydrated, ha, ha." He just looked at my sad cup of dehydrated pee with a look of contempt and then proceeded to look at me like I had just sprouted wings and a tail and turned into a flying hog monkey. Understandably. After those first few minutes of embarrassing jokes, though, he seemed to decide I wasn't so crazy after all and decided to chat about how sucky getting your blood drawn is, while he drew three little containers of mine. Maybe that was his revenge for my poor taste in humor? Maybe.

Anyway, moving on to non pee related topics. I love my little reader glasses. I just think they're so adorable in an Urkel/Jessica Day kind of way. My siblings hate me for wearing them, though, because I don't actually have any sort of genuine need for them. I mean, I get why they think it's annoying and nonsensical because it IS annoying and nonsensical, there's no point in denying the truth, but that ain't stoppin' me. ;) I like to look like Urkel. ;) In other completely unrelated news, though, I think I've come to the conclusion that I have a very non racially specific looking face. Why? Because I have been told that I look like I belong to a variety of different racial groups. I've been confused for being Hawaiian, Arabic, Brazilian, and even on a few occasions been told I look partially Asian. Weird, right? I think the one I've been the most surprised by was the Hawaiian. I choose to take them all as compliments, though, because all of those races are incredibly unique and beautiful so why not, right? There's no denying it, though, I'm a dang proud guatever Guatemalan. ;)

Much Love!

P.S. This accidental outtake pretty much shows my feelings on having shrunk down to 5'2.
