Worse than Watching Nail Polish Dry

Guess who actually painted her nails today?! This girl, this girl! This is such a rare thing for me, it's pretty much a miracle. No joke. I rarely paint my nails, and when I do I'll usually just leave 'em until the paint chips off on its own. It's really actually kind of gross. I mean, we all know that feeling of being too embarrassed to let anyone see our hands because our nail polish is disgustingly chipped, am I right? That's pretty much the main reason I rarely paint my nails. I'm just too lazy to ever actually remove it properly, so for me, nail polish usually just ends up looking disgusting. Plus, that whole waiting for it to dry thing? It's the worst. It pretty much renders me a useless blob. I end up walking around like a zombie, with my arms outstretched and hands pointed straight forward for what feels like hours. Oh, and have you ever needed to pee while your nail polish was still drying? This seems to happen to me every. single. time. I paint my nails. I even try to avoid it by peeing before I start painting them, but nope. As soon as my nails are painted it's like they send an alert to my bladder that NOW would be the perfect time to let me know how much they care. Have any of you attempted to undo a button and a zipper with wet nails? It's pretty much like trying to get a puppy to move mid poop-squat because aforementioned puppy is about to poop on the lawn of the mean neighbor who never shares his peaches; it's basically impossible. Not that a puppy poop-squat situation like that has ever happened to me...(; Also, can we ignore the fact that the skin on my hands is similar to that of a wrinkly old lady and the general shape of my hands is akin to that of 100 year old corpse? Yeah, let's just all try and ignore that. Especially now that I've made it more obvious by mentioning it. ;)
This is my third "Valentine's Day Inspired" looks. I decided to go for something more casual, because, well, not everyone is a fan of dressing up. Plus, what's better than a "girl next door" look on Valentine's Day, am I right? I thought the perfect way to go for a dressed down Valentine's Day look would be to go with my broken hearts trucker hat. To girl it up a little bit, because it is still Valentine's Day after all, I paired it with my floral bodysuit. Which, I loving like to call my, "adult onesie". Which, honestly, IS pretty much all it is. On a side note about adult onesies, I was actually always adamantly opposed to them. I just didn't get the point in having a bodysuit when you could have a perfectly good shirt. Know what I mean? Well, when I used that F21 gift card that I had leftover from Christmas I saw this bodysuit that I just fell in love with and got. Later on, when I fell off the bandwagon over the weekend and actually spent my own money on a shopping trip, I saw this floral bodysuit and decided I was officially addicted to bodysuits and went ahead and got it. I now know what I've been missing out on, guys. Bodysuits are the perfect way to tuck in a top and have absolutely NO lines! Plus they stay perfectly and smoothly tucked the whole day, which is perfect for pencil skirts or trousers! Their only downfall? Yupp, you guessed it. Wedgie-mania. Also, they should start making them even more like actual onesies by adding those convenient snap buttons on the bottom, for more convenient bathroom usage. ;)
 Bodysuit: F21
Cardigan: Express similar
Boyfriend Shorts: h&m similar
Loafers: F21
Trucker Hat: American Eagle, cute option here

Also, it was a balmy 55 degrees the day I wore this outfit, so I wasn't actually very cold wearing these shorts. Although, I will admit, they're a lot shorter than I had realized. They still aren't by any means those teeny bopper shorts that are annoyingly all the rage right now, but I'd still like them to be a couple of inches longer. Maybe I'll just have to hack a pair of my little brothers old jeans and make my own perfect length boyfriend shorts. ;)

Much love!

  1. I hate taking off nail polish and that's why I'm often not wearing any. I don't mind the painting process, i like it because it's creative. But there's no creativity involved in taking off your nail polish!

    1. haha, exactly! I'm just no good with any part of the process! Well, adding little designs is fun, but beyond that I hate all of it! :)

  2. Love your floral shirt! I hate painting my nails, they chip all the time, I usually smudge it while waiting for them to dry, and it dries my nails out. Haha, so not for me.
