Foundation

 Photos: Lori Romney Photography

I know I already announced this about a month ago on Instagram, but I only just realized that I hadn't formally announced it on here, so guess what? I'm announcing it now. Heehee. Two of my first and dearest blogging friends, Gentri and Lauren, started an Online Health & Wellness Magazine called Foundation. Foundation Magazine is all about helping you reach your full potential and I was lucky enough to be asked to be a spiritual contributor. I was so elated when Gentri first asked me because being a spiritual contributor for Foundation has given me the perfect avenue to share my spiritual and more heartfelt thoughts that I haven't always felt as able to share on this space here. These photos are just a small preview from my latest post on pressing forward with faith, which I hope you'll all take a moment to read, here. And if you're feeling really spiritual, also take a moment to read my first ever post, on patience, here. Comment with your thoughts, explore all of the site, and most of all enjoy!

Much love!

Yeah, Yeah

This last month I ate like C-R-A-P, crap. I'm usually pretty good at reigning it in and trying to be sure I get enough nutrients but these last couple of weeks were just BLEH. It was definitely starting to take it's toll on my body. For a variety of reasons, my body has a hard time with a lot of foods, particularly starchy/sugary foods -which are unfortunately my favorite. Anyway, because of that, if I don't closely monitor my intake of these types of foods and make sure I'm eating a balanced diet, my body starts to really hate me. My stomach starts hurting pretty much non-stop and my muscles and joints start to really struggle with inflammation and achy-ness. It gets to the point where even my feet get so swollen they're unrecognizable and I can hardly walk from how much they hurt. Anyway, because of all that yuck I decided to do a cleanse. Give my insides a nice Spring cleaning. Just really detoxify all the ick I had been loading into my stomach, give it a nice break, and start over. Let me tell you guys, though, I'm on day 2 and it's HARD. Even my dog is starting to look appetizing. Just kidding. That was totally gross, haha.

Dudes, it's the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale! Which means you all need to get your shop on! Plus, the jacket I'm wearing? Yeah, it's from Nordstrom...so now's your chance to snag it on sale!! Also, these lace up sandals are everything you guys. Everything. I'd been wanting them for weeks, but they sold out online within a day. Luckily, they had them in-store so I snatched 'em up in a heart beat! Holla! Anyway, yeah, I'm sleepy and just a leettle bit hangry so that's all I have for you all.

Much love!

Told Ya, Sort of

Remember how a couple of weeks ago I said school was over so I was officially back to blogging...but then I wasn't? Well, now I'm actually back. ;) For real this time, so see I told y'all I was back...:) Anyway, do you all also remember how I said I had SOOO much to catch you up on? Well, I have no idea what that "SOOO much" even was anymore. Whoops, haha. Story of my life, though. I'm always telling my sister I have so many juicy stories to tell her, but if I get distracted for even one second I completely forget all of them. So tragic. ;) I have the absolute worst memory in the world. I can't even remember what day of the week it is when I wake up in the mornings. Really, I wake up so confused like, "what planet am I on, and is it Tuesday or Friday?" It's pretty bad, haha. Also, I think grades are out now...and I have yet to check. I'm fairly sure I got A's -not to toot my own nerdy horn- but I mean, ya never know, right?

Sooo Utah weather lately has been ridiculous. We've pretty much had non-stop rain for the last two weeks and the forecast for this week is no different. It is completely wild. Now, I'm usually a HUGE fan of the rain but three straight weeks of full on storms is just a little too much for me. It's putting a damper on my summer activities. Haha, "damper" get it? Get it? I'm so punny, guys. ;) Anyway, in clothing related topics, this dress is bomb. It's vintage-y classic and I just lurve it. Perfect easy, breezy, summer dress. Since it's thrifted, though, I'll just link similar options down below for your buying pleasure. Also, gladiator sandals. They're still going strong. And I love it! If you haven't bought a pair yet, buy some. Like, yesterday.

Much love!

My People

I'm sure you're all butt tired of seeing/reading about my Spring break trip to Cali...but there were just so many dang good photos still left over to share with you all. Plus, I mean, how cute do my girls look in these photos? I loves them like I loves sugar and that's a whole dang lot! Anyway, this post is just going to be a whole lot of mush so if that's not your cup of oatmeal, well then, I apologize and you'll just have to skip out on this post...ya heartless fool. ;) Ok, so I just want to start off by saying that I have THE best friends a girl could have! Really and truly! (Allison, Ro, Lish, and Angelica you know you're my main babes) It's rare to be blessed with such spectacular humans to laugh, cry, share, learn, and grow with! They're a dime a dozen. I won't go too into detail into their individual awesomeness because I don't want to invade their privacy so I'll just say that seeing them grow into the individuals that they are today and being able to (hopefully) grow and mature right alongside them has been such a blessing. They've all individually and collectively taught me so much. Sharing life with them has been so grand and having fun memories, like the ones captured above, to look back on and share with my future kids will be great! The only thing is, everything is online nowadays and we rarely ever print photos anymore. I'm making it a goal to get my favorite photos from the last few years printed and placed into a simple album. I think often times I make mountains out of the molehills of things that aren't quite going how I'd like, and I end up completely overlooking all of the cherishable moments that my life is so full of! Anyway, I'm grateful for the spectacular friends in my life and if I can be even a little bit as good as they are, I will have accomplished a lot! Thanks, babes!

Much love!

Name (Yes, that is a Goo Goo Dolls reference)

tunic: c/o OASAP
hat: h&m

Soooo...I'm back! ...And this blog has a new name!!! AH! This change was a long time coming, but I'm still feeling so nervous about it. It has definitely proven to be a bigger challenge and way more work than I anticipated but fingers crossed that it'll be for the better! I think I may have mentioned this the last time I posted (a billion years ago...) but saying 'Life of a Coy Fish' was just a really big mouthful and most people didn't get it -it just had to do with my astrological sign, for those of you readers who didn't really get it yourselves. Anyway, I didn't want to change it too, too much so I left 'coy' in there and just shortened it up a bit.  Thoughts?  My worry now is that 'Cleverly Coy' sounds a little pretentious...does it? ACK! I sure hope not! Anyway, I'm going with the old school definition of 'coy' here -quiet and reserved; shy- because I feel like that is completely my character, which is kind of funny because most people that meet me would probably never think to describe me as shy. <-- Holy run on sentence! Anyway, I have about a million things to catch you all up on but I don't want to turn this post into a novel and bore you all to tears! Anyway, with that in mind, I'll just end by telling you all that I also updated all of my tabs if you want to take a look around, and as a completely unrelated and random thought...23 has been really weird so far. Not bad weird necessarily, but it's definitely been interesting and I've only been 23 for a little over a month...

Much love!
