Black and Gold

Well ladies and gents (mostly ladies, though, because there's probably only about two guys that read this here blog -I'm guessing- and I highly question their motives for doing so) I've decided to put off that post I've mentioned about a thousand times again. Mostly, though, because it's a topic that requires a certain mood and quite frankly I'm just not in "that" mood today so it'll have to wait for another moment in which I feel like being all serious and emotional. ;) Can I just mention how much I love this Back to the Future t-shirt that my little sister let me borrow? I love it more than monkeys love bananas, more than peanut butter loves jelly, and more than Miley Cyrus loves wearing flesh colored shorts that barely do their job of covering her hoo ha and display to the world that she indeed has a hoo ha and is in fact a girl. Sorry about that, but I mean, seriously, the girl needs ta put on some pants. Anyway, onto friendlier comments. See how I'm imitating the Marty Mcfly pose up in that picture above? I felt pretty dang cool doin' it. The Back to the Future trilogy is one of my all time favorite trilogies. Such a classic. I think I was about 12 the first time I watched it. I remember my dad gathered up all my siblings and me and told us to sit down and watch his favorite movie from his youth. We were all a little doubtful at first, but ten minutes in and we were mesmerized. If I could hop into a tricked out DeLorean and time travel to any time period, boy oh boy, would I have field day.
l

There are a few time periods that I would like to visit if I owned a time traveling DeLorean and were best friends with Doc but before we get started on my dream time travel locations I just want to take a second to toot my own horn. See my nails up in that photo? I did 'em myself, and I'm pretty dang proud if I do say so myself. I felt like doing reverse french tips would be a fun trend to try out and I thought a shimery gold with black would bring in a dash of that 80's vibe to match my t-shirt. Anyway, if I could time travel, there are two main time periods that I would like to visit.

{Wilson's Leather: jacket similar; Target: t-shirt; Gap: jeans similar; GoJane: booties similar; Van Heusen: sunnies similar}

First, I would  LUUUUUUURVE to time travel back to England circa 1812. I would bring with  me a battery run curling iron with an endless supply of batteries, feminine hygiene products, eyebrow filler&tweezers, blush, toothpaste&toothbrush, and some deodorant. The curling iron would be for flawless curls that all the ladies would envy. Feminine hygiene products, well, let's just put it this way, there ain't no way no how this girl is having a period in the 1800's. Uh, uh. -Insert sassy home girl double snap. You know the one.- The eyebrow filler and tweezers? Well, if I'm going to live in the 1800's and run the possibility of bumping into Jane Austen (who am I kidding? I wouldn't "bump" into Jane Austen. I would hunt the girl down and have her sign my complete collection of her books! Duh.) then I better have the best looking eyebrows in town. Oh, and in an era when au naturel was the way to go when it came to cosmetics, I think a little blush would put me in a league above the rest which would obviously put me in line to meet and fraternize with the Mr. Bingley and Darcy types. Swoon. The same goes for the toothpaste and deodorant. I mean, if I'm the only girl walking around with mercifully stink less armpits and breath that doesn't reek of morning then I'd say I'd have a pretty good chance of being a favorite amongst high society. ;) Not to mention the fact that I'd have perfectly coiffed brows and flushed cheeks, and I mean, who doesn't like a good pair of flushed cheeks? And, yes, I mean face cheeks. Obviously, if I could realistically time travel back to Englad 1812 I probably wouldn't be able to sneak my way into being a high lady of society, I mean, I'm too scrawny to have been considered attractive and I have the hand texture of a ruffian but come on, this is a fantasy guys. Anyway, my second dream time travel location? The Americas, in the period just before colonization. I wouldn't bring a single thing. I think wildness would be good to me. Wild hair, wild clothing, I'd fit in perfectly. Plus, I've always thought being a native would be pretty neat. I mean, to have that level of knowledge of the land and it's many uses would be incredible. Plus, I could put my running abilities to good use and be a killer hunter. Haha, no pun intended. If you could time travel where would you go and what would you bring?

Much Love!

  2. I would so wear that Back to the Future shirt! I know for a fact that there are 3 men who read my blog: Dad, brother, husband. And I think they are mostly bewildered by it.
