Hello My Name is Carl
Reason #108 why I don't like summer: The Butt Burn. You all know what I'm talking about. When you get into your vehicle after it's been sitting in the sun all day, and not only does it feel like a suffocatingly hot sauna, but the seats have gotten so hot they could serve as a stove top on which you could fry yourself up some eggs, hash browns, and bacon. Which, honestly, once yo buns hit that seat they in fact turn into the sizzling aforementioned bacon! Yee. Ouch. Don't even get me started on the pain of bare leg skin on hot LEATHER seats. Kind of makes you want to sing/yell, "My, butt is on fiyahhhhhhh!" to the tune of Alicia Key's "This girl is on Fire". Reason #109? I get tired ten times faster on my runs if I run anytime after 8am due to the extreme heat. That, and ninety percent of the time I forget water, so I have to quit after only a few miles because I don't want to die of dehydration. Anyway, that's my little shpeel on Summer for the day. Also, life is good you guys. Just when I think I've reached the point of giving myself an ulcer from stressin', the Lord pulls through for me (like always, I don't know why I stress at all, if I know God is on my side. I am lame.) I am a blessed human. I'm thankful for that. Oh, and as a completely unrelated side note, the stickers for the special license plates at work smelled like baby poop yesterday. The warm liquidy green kind, too. Yick. Also, why is awesomeness a word but liquidy isn't? That don't make no sense. FYI, "that don't make no sense" is a direct quote from "Baby Mama". Yes, I have 90% of the lines in that movie memorized. I'm pretty sure I could take over Dax Shepard's role and play Carl. I would be an AWEsome Carl.

I have a lot of outfit chitchat for you all today so let's just jump right into it. First, red and turquoise? My FAVORITE summer color combo! I love how they look together! Next, I bought this shirt 4 sizes too big. Yeah, I know, that sounds crazy. But I wanted a really relaxed loose fit that would look fun and slouchy and also be long enough to wear tied, like I did today. Also, two words: layered necklaces. I'm obsessed. I love layering different necklaces together, It just adds an effortless touch of chic to an outfit. Next, these sandals? I love 'em. I got them at an online shoe shop I found recently, ZooShoo. I may or may not have gone a little crazy and bought three, yes THREE, pairs of boots, and a pair of heels. I couldn't help myself, though, their shoes are CARAZY adorable and CARAZY affordable. I got, 40% off my purchase! They also carry brands like Steve Madden, Sam Edelman, Chinese Laundry, etc. Which, of course, are a little pricier, but still, they gots it all. Also, I'm currently really feelin' my soft indie music playlist. I've been jammin' out to it as I type. Every time an extra good song comes on, which is pretty much EVERY single one of them, I turn it up and think, "dis ma jam!" Which then causes me to giggle because who else in the world cranks up soft INDIE music and thinks, "dis ma jam", much less JAMS out to it? Only me...probably. Anyway, you all know how I love to share my music, so here is my playlist. Listen to it, love it, jam out to it. It has been the careful work and cultivation of years of music listening so it is dang well near perfect, in my opinion. ;)
Much love!

Seriously, guys, Chic Wish is killing it. Which, P.S. they just stalked up their shoe collection and all I can say is, insert googoo eyes emoticon! I mean, these booties? Must. Enter. My. Closet. Oh, and these strappy leather heels? To. Die. For. They would go perf with a white midi skirt and simple tee! Who Puts the Glad in Gladiator?
"Hercules!...Is he bold? No one braver! Is he sweet? Our favorite flavor! Hercules, HERCULES!" Anyone remember that little tune? Ya know, the theme song to the cartoon version of the Disney movie, Hercules? I was a pretty big Herc fan as a kid. Both of the cartoon AND the movie and these sandals definitely remind me of them! Anyway, I didn't post yesterday...I know, I'm awful. Oh well. It was just my day off and I had a bunch of stuff to take care of. Being a grown up sucks. And I don't even technically qualify as one. ;) I'm watching Mona Lisa Smile, as I type, because, well, watching movies on Netflix has just sort of become my pre bed time ritual. I know, bad ritual to have, but well, I like movies. A little too much. Anyway, that's not the point, the point is, that movie? Yeah, it's awesome! One of my faves of Julia Robert's. The intensity of the story, the music, fashion, everything. It's all amazing. I wish I knew how to dance like they did back in the 50s!

Waaaaaaaaaanna know another trend to try? Gladiator sandals. Yep, they're in again. I kind of love how gladiator sandals have been coming in and out of style for the past few years, they're sort of like the trend that won't quit. I love it! At first I thought I was too short to pull them off, put I'm diggin 'em. I'm diggin 'em a lot! In fact, I can't wait to pair these babies with a dress or a skirt! Also, this Target bracelet? I'm in love! I love that it's like a bunch of random little bangles all wrapped up into one. My sissy and I went halfsies on it! We both spotted it, loved it, thought $10 was too much to pay for it, and then almost at the same time suggested splitting the cost of it and sharing it, because for $5 we would totally get it! Oh the beauty of having sisters! :)
Much love!

Sorry about the lack of photos today folks, there were some really excellent shots but they were just too grainy. I know even these are a tad on the grainy side, but focus on the coolness of the captures rather than the grainyness. :) Anyway, since we have a lack of photos I figure we can get away with a lack of text. Also, I'm just lazy...and it's Tuesday. My day off!!! Yeah, yeah! Holla! Oh, and, ya know what? This dress? It's actually a skirt. Shhh! I love the idea of reinventing pieces in my closet! Especially this year that I'm not shopping (and failing this month, but we'll do better next month). Also, peach and turquoise? Best color combo EVAH!!!!!! Also, I have some MAJ outfit posts (mostly featuring Chic Wish, eep!) coming for you in the next couple of weeks! Be excited! Or not. ;)

top: Old Navy
boyfriend shorts: h&m similar
sandals: F21 similar
hat: JMR similar
necklace: gift from my baby seester
I know you're all probably ready to shoot this hat by now, but I just looooooove it! So...#sorrynotsorry! ;) Just kidding, I actually loath that hashtag with all the force behind my beating heart. Things just got intense in here guys, ohhhhhh! ;) Anyway, I'm just going to come out and say this. I've sucked at my shopping challenge this month. Majorly. I've shopped a TON. I feel just terrible. Terrible. Really, though, I'm getting that icky "I spend too much time caring about clothing" feeling again so I am absolutely, positutely, 100% resolved to sticking to my challenge in May. The reason I'm fessing up now is because I got this top at Old Navy a couple of days ago, and even, though, I feel bad about breaking my challenge, I'm absolutely loving the shirt. I sized WAY up when I bought it because I wanted it to have that "extra slouchy" look, and for the most part I think it was a good decision. I love the slouch. The only thing is that my torso is entirely WAY too short for it. A little tucking in action, though, and it's allll good. Anyway, that's all. BOOSH!
Much love!
Get Goo Goo over this playlist! Just a few of my favs!

And Breathe
I meant to post this on Friday, but alas, I got lazy as a daisy and didn't. This past week was a whirlwind! A lot of trials that had been weighing down on the minds of those in my family finally came down to their solution during a two day stress fest. Thankfully and mercifully all turned out well and exactly as we had hoped! I'm definitely feeling as light as a feather now, and like I can finally just breathe. I'm so thankful for the power of prayer right now! I'm also really enjoying the Spring blooms! They're just so breathtaking! It makes me sad that they hardly last, though. A lot of them are already turning into leaves and it's kind of bummin' me out. ;)

We're just going to keep it short and sweet today. Mostly because I'm exhausted. Anyway, I got this adorable little tunic top courtesy of To Adorn and I'm seriously luuurving it. Paired with these flared jeans and floppy hat, it's the perfect boho Spring/Summer look. Not to mention that this chunky cardi from American Eagle is like my favorite thing ever. It's soooo cozy. If I were tall enough to wear these jeans without heels this would definitely be my go to music festival look! Now, speaking of music, I added two new songs to the playlist I posted on Tuesday that you all must simply listen to! I've been obsessing over them this whole week and they may or may not be the only two songs that I've listened to over the course of 7 days. ;) They're at the bottom of the playlist, "Comfortable With Silence" by Andy Shauf and "Waiting" by Alice Boman.
