Rare Book

Isn't that little guy just the cutest little book you ever did see? I'm in love with this wall! A book with a stack of pet books! Genius! I had to take a picture of the wall all on it's own because it didn't fit in the frame with me in it! :) Also, how are all of your Monday's going? I'm having the best Monday I've had in a while. Why, you ask? Because I'm lying poolside at The Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas! Eep! No work for this gal! :) Just straight up shoppin', poolside lounging, and celebrating the birth of one of the best humans to ever live, my sister! :) I hope your Monday's are going so bad, though! Oh, and P.S. these photos weren't snapped in Vegas, I took these at home, in Utah, before I left! :) Also, I saw "The Fault in Our Stars" on Saturday. It. Was. Amazing!!! I've been obsessing over the book for nigh on three years now, and to see that the movie followed it SO closely was just amazing! The movie did it complete justice! Also, I bawled. Like a baby. But, I mean, everyone else did too. Even the boys! I kid you not. :) Go and see it stat, even if you haven't read the book! Also, if you haven't already, read the book. It really is fantastic. It's charming, hilarious, relatable, and just extremely well written! Also, how fitting that we should be discussing books on a post in which I'm standing in front of a giant book. :) Impeccable timing, Scherbatson.

I wanted to go for an uber crisp and chic yet casual look with this outfit and what better way to do that than to go monochromatic with clean whites and pops of tan? I'm pretty obsessed with solid white looks this summer! It just looks so clean and eye catching without being way over the top! I'm a big fan of the simple yet daring looks! Also, these booties. I've been wearing them pretty much everyday since I got 'em. They are amazeballs! Get yerselves a pair! Also, I'm so glad I didn't get mauled by a hobo when I shot these because even, though, this wall is close to the ritzy mall area there were still some shady passersby. There was a festival going on down the street, though, so I will attribute it to that. Alas, I am alive and unmauled! Yippee! :)

Much love!

Diva is the Female Version of a Hustla

Sigh...you guyssss...Hugh Grant in "Sense and Sensibility" just slays me. He just looks so awkward, and adorably dashing! I love it! Not to mention that "Sense and Sensibility" is basically the story of my life. Next to "Pride & Prejudice" (which I read 1,001 times a year) and "Persuasion" (which I read 1,000 times a year) it's my favorite Jane Austen novel! If ever there was a book character that was the exact image of myself, it is that of Miss Marianne Dashwood. She is rather impolite to the advances of any man whom she isn't interested in, or that is being forced upon her, considers any man above the age of 24 to be on his deathbed, swoons and is stupidly smitten by any attractive fellow, reads obsessively and dramatically, plays the piano, and is foolishly/ridiculously romantic to the core of her wee little heart. She is the perfect representation of myself. ;) Also, there is hardly any other movies that I can watch with such frequency as "Sense and Sensibility", "Pride & Prejudice", and "Emma". They never get tiring, and I adore every second of them. There never was such a literary genius like that Jane Austen. Woman after my own kind. I adore her. That is all. My weird schpeel is over. :)

I actually had planned to share a different outfit with you all today, but alas, I was experiencing some technical difficulties with it so it will have to wait for another day. Sad, Sad. I wore this particular look a couple of weeks ago when the weather was still quite on the chilly side. Anyway, when the weather isn't quite cooperating with the Season, a fun way to still Spring up an outfit is by adding pops of bright color, like with this bag! :)  Also, just as a completely unrelated side note, when my sister and I street diva/thug talk at night it's hilarious! We've got our "Diva is the female version of a Hustla" persona's down to a T. ;)

Much love!

Being Human

I have to admit, this title is probably preeeetty misleading. So, to give you all full disclosure, this post has nothing to do with being a human. This post has more to do, ok, ok, is all about the TV show Being Human. Yes. I'm dedicating an entire post to a sci-fi/fantasy TV series because I'm a complete and total nerd. But you all knew that already. Before we get started, though, I have a quick side note. I'm totally Charlies Angels posing in that photo above. Forgive me for that completely unintentional cheese. Anyway, this TV show I'm talking about, Being Human? Yeah, I've pretty much been obsessing about it for the past month. So. Swasing. Good. AHH! The series finale last night did not disappoint one little bit. It wrapped every little detail up into a perfectly beautiful little bow (unlike another series finale that happened recently. Ahem, ahem, How I Met Your Mother, you know who you are). All the lovers I was just rooting and aching for in my wee lil' heart o' hearts ended up together, blissfully! I may or may not have been squealing "Sally! Aidan! Sally and Aidan!!" for a full hour, much to the constant irritation of my sleeping pup. Sigh, I just can't get over it. Also, the fact that the show continued on for FOUR seasons, despite a very limited budget, all because of the passion of nerd/obsessive fans like my sister and I is pretty ridonk. Also, I just loved that the ending was ultimately all about enjoying the small moments in life. The day to day, mundane, and gloriously average aspects of life. Cheers to picking up the table after a meal with loved ones, having tussles about which direction is the right direction to place the toilet paper (coincidentally, I apparently don't ever put it the right way), and sitting around in the same room being completely bored together! Life is beautiful. Being human is beautiful.

Now that I'm mostly done geeking out, let's talk outfit details. How cute is this top? I love that it's so flowy and cozy, while still looking put together. You all know how I obsessed I am with slouchy pieces and this top definitely fits the bill in a very ethereal way! I got it courtesy of Chic Wish, which if you'll all remember, is the fab online shop were I had previously bought this gorgeous full midi skirt that I've styled a BAZILLION times (here, here, and here). Also, how awesome is this feather arm cuff? I love how unique it is, and, for a person as terrified of birds as I am, I have kind of a huge thing for feathers! Lucky for you guys they're both still available, so go snap them up fer yerselves. Or, pick out something different if ya like. Whatever you please, Chic Wish's collection right now is killer! I'm personally seriously eye balling this gorgeous white midi skirt. Can you say summer staple? Now, let's talk hats. How cool is this fedora? I'm smitten by it. So perf. I snapped it up with some birthday money from the 'rents (hey, it didn't come from my paycheck so it was totally legal according to my "Closet Challenge" rules). Anyway, I snagged it for 75% off at a boutique that was sadly going out of business at the mall. I feel bad for them, but it was a MAJOR win for me. :) Now, one last complete geek out moment. Listen to this playlist. I may or may not have carefully created/curated it when I was obsessing over "Being Human" last month. It's my "If I Were an Emotionally Tortured Vampire Trying to Find Love With a Hot Man Ghostie" playlist of sorts. I figure it's what would be playing in the background of all of my tortured vampire montages. ;) Seriously, listen to it. If anything, at least listen to "We are the Wild Ones", "As Night Falls", and "Lost". Annnnd, that's everything. Nerd, out! Boom-shack-a-lacka!

Much love!
