Fantasies
Guys, I'm so tired it's gross. It's totally my own fault too. I only got 5hrs of sleep last night! AH!! I mean, it was the Downton Abbey season finale, though, so I had to stay up. I really didn't have a choice here. ;) Really, though, I'm such a nerd. I mean, who else would loose sleep for a British tv series? Yeah...;) Anyway, tonight guys, tonight, I will do much better. I will be a good lil' granny and go straight to bed come 9 o'clock. Not even kidding. I have another early morning tomorrow (5am you are my worst enemy). In other news, I've been feeling like I'm in a bit of a funk lately. Anyone else ever feel like they get into funks? I hate feeling funky. I hate it. My spring break trip to Big Sur is just around the corner, though, so I'm sure some much needed r&r and ocean therapy will do the trick. I'm not one to get into funks very often so when I do it stinks worse than a dirty diaper. Kay, that was a weird comparison, but you get the point. Either way, I'm just going to dive headlong into all of the goals I've set for myself this year and make them happen. :)

Guys, this is seriously one of my new favorite dresses! I had been eye balling it for MONTHS on Ruche but I kept holding back on buying it because I've been tight on cash. BUT, then they had a two day 50% off sale and I jumped on it like a...insert funny comparison because I got nothin'...Anyway, yeah, I got the dress and I luuurves it. It was just one of those "fantasy" items for me. Ya know, the kind you see, instantly fall in love with, and then proceed to fantasize about and all the awesome sassy scenarios you would get into wearing it. Ever have those kinds of items or is that just me? It's definitely more of a summer dress and most of my sassy day dreamin' scenarios about it involved strappy leather sandals, salsa dancing in the summer, and riding a motorcycle, but hey those could all plausibly happen come summer! ;) In the meantime, though, I'll be wearing the crap out of it with cozy chunky sweaters! Which, truth be told, is a match made in heaven! Mixing warm weather items with cold weather items is one of the best parts of Spring!
Much love!

The Headless Blogger (and what's the deal with clammy hands?)
First and foremost...what day is it? I think it might be Tuesday? Yeah...It's probably Tuesday, correct me if I'm wrong. Well, if it IS Tuesday then that means that it's been a full FOUR days since I last posted anything. My apologies. I got sick late Thursday night and I honestly couldn't really muster up enough energy to do much the rest of the weekend. I mean, my parents took off for Vegas on Saturday to celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary (more on that later this week) and my sister and I were charged with running my Dad's dealership on our own. A pretty hefty challenge, especially when you're sick. Anyway, with that little mountain to climb, and the fact that I had to prepare a lesson for my Sunday School class my sick little scattered brain didn't really have enough time and/or energy to think of anything other than the tasks directly at hand. I'm still feeling a little under the weather so if this post is weirder than fishes eating gumballs and makes about as much sense as a hobgoblin skiing on candy mountain then you know why. Anyway, I wore this outfit a few days ago and I realize I've already blogged about this dress on three separate occasions (here, here, and here) but that was back in my first month of blogging so the photo quality wasn't great and the content quality wasn't at it's finest so I figured it'd be alright to give the dress another whirl on this here blog (FYI, I like to talk like a hill billy when I'm sick). Plus, I like to keep things on this blog as close to real life as it gets and in real life you wear your clothes more than once.

Let's discuss the title of this post shall we? I originally called this post "The Headless Blogger" because in about half of the photos I picked for it I decided to crop out my head. It was an artistic decision. Just kidding, it wasn't. I mostly did it because when I wore this outfit on Sunday I was still in the grips of deep sickness so I didn't really like how the head portion of me looked, therefore, I decapitated myself in these photos. Problem solved. Oh, and if you'll notice, 99% of the photos where my head IS included I'm not looking directly at the camera. Anyway, as I got typing I realized that the fact that my mind seems to be MIA right now with this nasty cold/congestion makes the "headless" title even more appropriate. Alright, now let's discuss the second part of the title, clammy hands. The other day, after my Sunday School lesson, one of the guys in the class came up to introduce himself to me. We talked. He shook my hand. His hand was sweaty. Mine was not. Then, that just got me to pondering about why exactly guys hands get so clammy and sweaty all the time. It just doesn't make sense. I mean, we had BOTH been in the same crazy hot classroom, and I had been sweating up a pretty big storm myself, BUT my hands didn't get sweaty one little bit. I'm sure there's some sort of buggedy boo, blah blah, scientific reason for this but I don't know it so if one of you readers do, enlighten me please. Anyway, that was the biggest thought rolling around my brain while I was sick this weekend. I DID, however, have a couple of other random sickness induced thoughts rolling around in my noggin too. Like, how come our mouths get so dry while we're sleeping? Why the heck does that happen? It's pretty annoying. I hate getting up to pee in the middle of night only to wake up with a mouth dryer than butt crack Egypt. Oh, and that's another thing! Why do we have to pee so gosh dang much? I hate peeing. If I could not pee for the rest of my life I would be happy. Talking about pee is a little weird...even I'm a little weirded out right now. I'll stop. BUT just take a quick second to think about how weird the word pee sounds now that I've said it a thousand times. Sounds kind of like a gibberish word now, huh? I had one last thought rolling around in my mind but it'd take up a lot of room in this post to share it so I'll save it for another time.
Much Love!

TMI
Last night I had this complete stroke of genius and I was suddenly hit with a brilliant idea of what I wanted this post to be about. I was completely convinced that this idea was going to be mind blowing and move the masses. Then, of course, I got sleepy and decided that this idea was so brilliant I would still remember it in the morning if I went to sleep. I went to sleep thinking, "there's no way I'll forget this. No way". Then of course, I went to sleep and when I woke up at 4:30 I had no clue what this fantabulous idea could have been. Here we are then, at five in the morning and all I can think about is the very real possibility that I might have a bladder infection. Lovely, right? I go from having a brilliant beyond brilliant idea for a post to making this post about a possible bladder infection. Well, ya know, you all can't completely blame me for any mental scarring you may have received just now from my talk of bladder infections because I DID aptly name this post TMI as a proper warning. ;) Speaking of TMI...I don't know if they do this all around the states much less all around this state but when I was in Elementary School here in this part of Utah they did this little thing in the 5th grade called "The Maturation Program". You can probably get the gist of what "The Maturation Program" was about but I'll spell it out for you all in complete detail anyway, ya know, since we've established that I like to share TMI about weird crap. Anyway, some adults in a land far far away...(Sorry, I had to do it. It's never a bad time for a Star Wars joke) decided that when chillens in the Jordan School District of Utah reached the ripe old age of ten they were old enough to learn about the bodily functions that were about to strike them with a vengeance. The Maturation Program was something that your teacher got you all hyped up about, "Yay! You're all going to be shut up in a room for a day as you learn about the little hellion punch mother nature has in store for you! YAYYYY! Be excited!".
{Pacsun: dress similar; Osh Kosh B'Gosh: denim jacket similar; Charlotte Russe: combat boots similar; Scarf: gift from a friend similar}
On Maturation Program day they split up the boys and girls into two separate groups. We met in two different rooms and, surprise! We got to invite our mom or dad, depending on if you were a boy or girl, to come with us! Naturally, we were all excited. I mean, our teacher had built up the hype, we didn't have to do school work, AND they had a table set up with cookies, drinks, and goody bags. Ha, little did we know that the cookies weren't just cookies. They were consolation cookies. Cookies that were meant to express, "We're very sorry, but we have to inform you that from here on until you're in your late forties maybe early fifties you'll be bleeding for about five days every month...have a cookie!" Never trust a cookie. When someone offers you that little slab of sugary goodness be suspicious. Oh, and the goody bag? It was just full of pads and mini deodorant. Not my idea of a fun goody bag. All that says is, "here ya smell bad, and here's a little extra special something in case our periods synced up during this conversation and you start bleeding right away". Or, in my case, the pad in the goody bag served the purpose of informing me that, "Ooooooh, so this ISN'T an adult diaper for ladies...I had it wrong all these years. Huh". Anyway, in retrospect, I kind of feel bad for the teacher that got the fun job of explaining to a room full of ten year olds that we were all about to turn into sweaty, smelly, hormonal, balls of fun and that from here on out our pits would require shaving. I guess someones gotta do it, right? Anyway, whats the point in this weird conversation you ask? The point would be that five years after going to my own "Maturation Program" I read this little embarrassing moment article published in Seventeen Magazine that inspired me to do something that my siblings haven't let me live down to this day. Back when I was 15, Seventeen Magazine had this little column where girls would share their embarrassing moments. In one particular issue they did a little "embarrassing moments" column written by boys. One of the embarrassing moments shared was of this boy who got dared by his friends to go knock on the door of his crush and ask for a pad. The boy, not knowing at all what a pad was, took the dare. Unfortunately his crush's dad was the one that opened the door and the boy proceeded to ask him for a pad "because he was having an emergency". I don't know why but this story made me feel so incredibly sorry for that dumb kid. It made me think that I didn't want my own little baby brother to be duped by his lame friends into doing something that stupid. That night, I explained periods to him and everything that they entailed. He was ten. BUT, I mean, he had already gone to his own "Maturation Program" so he DID already know a little bit. It wasn't like I was explaining that the tooth fairy doesn't exist or anything. The glass had already been at least a little partially shattered. I just wanted him to be well informed. To this day, though, my siblings won't let me live down that I explained to a ten year old the functions of the female body. Little brats. Anyway, wasn't this post just a lovely ball of fun? And to think that it all started with bladder infections. I'm so good at TMI. ;) Well, I'm off to drink crazy amounts of sugar free cranberry juice to cure my self diagnosed bladder infection!
Much Love!
P.S. Yes, my jacket is from Osh Kosh. The children's clothing store. A little while ago my mum and I were going through a box of my little brother's old kids clothes and I came across this gem. I wasn't sure it'd fit since it was intended for an eight year old boy, but I tried it on and it fit perfectly so I fell in love!

1 dress 3 ways!
| {dress: F21 old, top: Ross old, shoes: Charlotte Russe, belt: F21}
Today
my parents and two younger siblings spoke in their Spanish ward, so Allison and
I skipped out on going to our singles ward to hear them speak. Let me tell you,
I'm glad we were there! I couldn't have been prouder of my little brother and
sister! Since they were born and raised here they never got very much practice
at speaking Spanish the way Allison and I did, and it's always been a little
bit of a struggle for them, but today they blew it out of the water. Other than
a few slip ups, their Spanish was so good! I was one proud big sister! Well,
this will be my last post on my little white dress! I feel like making it a
goal to actually wear this dress more than once put it to better use. I feel
like a lot of the time I'll buy something because I totally love it but then
after wearing it once I usually won't wear it again for MONTHS. I loved how
forcing myself to wear this dress various times throughout this month forced me
to get creative so I didn't feel like I was wearing the same thing over and over
again, and because of it I got some really great looks! I even have so many
more ideas for different ways to wear it, but for now it will be getting a
break. I feel like this last look was my favorite of the three, what do you
guys think?

White Dress Round 2!
| {Moto jacket: h&m, dress: old, tights: F21, leather booties: Macy's}
Hello everyone! Remember this dress? Do you remember my 30 day no shopping commitment and the commitment I made to actually wear this dress, especially since it'd be the last item I'd buy for the next 30 days? Well, as promised here is the second way I styled this dress for the month! I decided the crisp white of the dress would go perfectly with the deep red of this faux suede moto jacket. Oh, and can I just say that I'm in love with this jacket? I got it at h&m a few months back for a steal! I randomly stopped by h&m one night, and found that they were having a mega sale! I saw this jacket, which was originally priced at $50 and got it for $20! Finally, I added the tights for some extra warmth and color contrast, and the wedge booties to keep my feet nice and toasty while adding some height to my frame! I'm excited for Martin Luther King Jr. Day tomorrow! A day off from classes will be very welcome, AND it'll be pay day!
Well, happy Sunday and happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day tomorrow!

So long, farewell
| {Dress//Earings//ring: F21, heels: Gianni Bini} |
Hello all! Today was the farewell of one of my very best friends, Marilyn! She's the tall one in the center. We've been friends since she moved into my old neighborhood almost 13 years ago. Wow, I can't believe it's been that long already. I have to tell you, she's one of my favorite people in the world! She's so genuine and funny! She's so unabashedly herself, but not in one of those pushy brutally honest ways. I'll miss her for the next 18 months while she's serving as a missionary in Toronto, Canada but I couldn't be prouder of her. All the same, we had a good time reminiscing on those good old high school days and all of the insane shenanigans we got into!
On to the outfit! I know I promised myself that now that the semester started and I would need to buy all of my supplies I wouldn't buy ANY new clothes...but I caved. I figured, hey I've got a couple of farewell's coming up this month and a few other things so I think I can justify buying this dress...and a couple of other items. I have issues. I really am a shopaholic. BUT, I'm going to work on it. Meagan, over at one of my favorite blogs, becauseofjackie.com, has committed to no shopping for 30 days and I'm committing to joining her! So, no more shopping for this girl for the next 30 days, and I will attempt to purge my closet. Just like Meagan, I need to get rid of anything I haven't worn in the past 6 months. Sounds simple enough right? Wrong. It will be an EXTREMELY hard thing for me to do. I get emotionally attached to clothing. I see it all and think back on the memories I made while wearing it. Plus, when I go through all of my clothing I know I'll just start making excuses and thinking, "welllll...I MIGHT need to wear it again so it should stay". On top of being a shopaholic I'm also apparently a hoarder. Anyway, since I bought this dress with the excuse that I would be wearing it A LOT this month I'm committing to actually doing so, and I'll post the different ways I styled it this month!
Happy Sunday!
