3pm

What the what? A new post at 3pm? Yep. I just put off putting this together for you all until now, heehee. ;) I just unexpectedly took the day off and, well, days off have the tendency of making a person (me) get pretty lazy. ;) I did go on a speed run earlier, though, and I'm WIPED!!!! Also, July's heat wave has officially set in. Yuck. I seriously feel like I'm melting half the time, now. I guess that must mean I'm the Wicked Witch of the West or something. That is the witch that melts, right? I don't know. Anyway, I'm seriously bathing in sweat 80% of the day now. So gross, I know. I'm the kind of person who only thinks buckets of sweat is a good thing when I've got on a pair of gym shorts and a sports bra (and athletic top, of course, I'm not one of those "look-at-me-and-my-flat-belly-in-this-sports-bra" type of girls. Annoying little beezies), so the fact that I'm constantly sticky with sweat these days is highly irritating. Just another one of the many reasons I'm not a fan of the summer. ;) How are you all coping with the heat wave?

This hat has been heavenly these past couple of days! It seriously does such a good job of keeping the sun from hitting my face and manages to keep it relatively cool, which, is awesome since we all know how good I am at coping with heat. ;) Also, I'm loooooving this Agnes & Dora skirt that I got at a shoot I did with them last month. It's seriously SO soft. It feels akin to what I imagine it would feel like to have fuzzy puppies rolling around my legs!

Much love!

One Thing On My Mind

Guys, I apologize in advance, but all I'm going to talk about today is futbol. Mainly because it's pretty much the only thing on my mind right now. First off, I had already written off the World Cup and decided the remaining matches didn't much matter to me now that my team, Costa Rica, had been eliminated. Which, for those of you who missed the match, it was an edge of your seat, hard fought, well played, futbol at it's finest, game! Those 'Ticos really laid it all out on the field and fought a valiant fight, they did Central America proud. In fact, their goalie is being lauded as the best goalie of the World Cup. Couldn't be prouder. Naturally, though, I vowed to myself I wouldn't watch another match. Since yesterday was my day off, though, I of course got tugged into watching the Brazil vs Germany match. Did any of you watch it? Because OH MY HECK!!!! Most embarrassing game in the history of futbol! Honestly, what a disgrace for Brazil. FIVE goals scored within the first half, four of which were scored within 10 minutes of each other, if I remember correctly, and the final score was SEVEN to one! Those Brazilians weren't even trying. As much as it pains me to say this, someone had to have been bought out because there is just NO way that could have happened otherwise. I feel so bad for the Brazilian fans, though! I'm not kidding you when I say that there were Brazilian children in the stands crying as if they'd just watched their mother get killed. THAT'S how disappointed they were! I'm seriously seething about this. (Lame, I know.) I mean, it's one thing to be the hosting country and get eliminated but to get eliminated like THAT? That's just disgraceful. Dishonor on the goalie, dishonor on the cow, dishonor on their whole team!

Well, now that my futbol rant is over, let's get to this outfit. I'm loving the denim pencil skirt trend this summer, and I thought a fun way to do it would be to dress it up with all white. Also, ripped denim, you guys, I love it. It keeps things casual in a fun way! Anyway, that's all I have to say, really, other than, BRAZIL GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shame, shame, SHAME!

Much love! ;)

I Got Hitched! (Just Kidding, just-sorta-looks-like-I-did)

How were all of your weekends? Mine was pretty fab! For those of you readers who celebrate the fourth of July I hope you had a good one! I know I didn't really do much myself, but having a nice 3 day weekend was sooooo nice nonetheless. Also, also! Yesterday was my baby sister's birthday! Her first one away from home, on her mission! I sure do miss her! Sooo much! Anyway, as most of you who have been following along for a while now know, I'm not a particular fan of Taylor Swift. For no particular reason either. I guess I'm just sort of a butt head that way. Really, though, I think it's more because as humans we tend to not really like people that resemble us too closely and my sister always tells me that if I were any good at singing (I'm not awful, but I'm no Mariah Carey) and a blonde I would basically be Taylor Swift. I think it's something about us both being overly girly, weirdos? I don't know, I can't remember her specific reasons why. Anyway, the point I'm trying to get to here is that over the weekend I had a spur of the moment Taylor Swift jam session (not alone, but not in the company of a girl either, I'll leave it to you all to figure that one out). For the reasons mentioned above, the jam out was obviously not incited by me, but I joined in happily enough. Anyway, now we're nearing the point, it was brought to my attention by my fellow jamee?, jammer?, person-with-whom-I-was-jamming, that the likability of T-Swift's songs stems from the fact that no matter who you are, when a T-Swift song comes on you can instantly think of someone who the song reminds you of. Regardless of how many relationships you've been in. Which, really is kind of true, and at last brings me to my point...I think I'm sort of a closet Taylor Swift fan. I know what you're all thinking, the world must be ending. It's not. I promise. ;) Well, closet fan of her 2nd and 3rd albums. Those are the ones with "Hey Stephen" and "Enchanted" right? I don't know. Anyway, truth be told, I've been a closet fan for quite some time now. I've had songs from aforementioned albums on my playlist for a few years. Go ahead, call me a little hypocritical. ;) Anyway, "Teardrops on My Guitar"? Hellooooo memories of being 17, carefree, with a mind far, far up in the clouds and crushing on a cute blonde high school soccer player.

Guys, I wore this outfit to church a couple of Sunday's back and I'm in LOOOOOVE with it! I love the look of an all white outfit and I know I'm not a bride, but who says they're the only ones who can work all white?! Also, I'm sort of obsessed with how 50's this look is! Especially since the 50's is one of my favorite decades, well, more like the 40s to the 70s, which, I know is more like 3 decades, but who's counting? If I could go back in time and live a few decades those would definitely be the ones. I'm obsessed with everything from their old world manners, to their fashion, and their music. And my gosh, the MUSIC! Those few decades really nailed it music wise! Billie Holiday, Ray Charles, Sam & Dave, Dean Martin, Earth Wind & Fire? Some of my all time favorite artists! Anyway, that's all I have for you loves! Happy Monday! (As if)

Much love!

Dear old Alfred

I've got one thing on my mind and one thing only...BATMAN. I know I already talked about it yesterday but I'm on the last movie in the trilogy and I'm still pretty obsessed. Also, my DVD player is probably older than I am. I think it may even be the first DVD player ever made. Seriously. It has no pause button, fast forward button, rewind button, or menu arrows. Apparently back in the day you either watched yo movie all at once or not at all. Missed something? Too bad. Ya can't rewind. Need to pee? Pee yo pants cause ya can't pause. Bored of a certain scene? Well then boohoo, why'd you rent the movie because ya can't fast forward either. It's pretty funny, actually and I actually kind of like it because it forces me to pay more attention then I would have otherwise. Also, I ALWAYS cry at the scene when Bruce kicks out poor Alfred. I love Alfred, he's the sweetest old guy ever and yes, I'm officially the nerdiest nerd out there. I mean, who else cries at a super hero movie?

I literally have nothing to say about this outfit. Not because I don't like it, but because I'm too engrossed in "The Dark Knight" rises at the mo. I will say this, though, I'd been looking for a good pair of nude heeled sandals for ages and when I found these on ZooShoo and scored them for $20 I was beyond ecstatic! They are a dream and I've already worn them a thousand and one times! The only thing I did notice about my recent orders from ZooShoo is that their sizes run a little small so I'd recommend going a half size up!

Much love!

Because I'm...Batman!

Remember how I mentioned yesterday that I was hording up the Batman trilogy in my room? Well, I just started my little tete-a-tete with The Bat. Man, I love those movies. Most well done super hero movies ever. EVER. Also, I have a sweet spot for them because back in middle school my little sister and I used to have a bit of a crush (ok, a MAJOR crush) on Christian Bale. SUCH. A babe. I remember the summer in between eighth and ninth grade she and I ordered EVERY Christian Bale movie available on Netflix. Of course, this was back when Netflix only mailed DVD's out to you. Heehee, DVD mailing. ;) Anyway, that summer we watched everything Christian Bale. Well, excepting "American Psycho". Understandably, my dad had us send it back the second he realized we had ordered it. Course, we had no idea that "American Psycho" wasn't exactly a friendly movie, although, we should've guessed by the fact that it has the word "psycho" in the title. Anyway, he didn't want us to, get ready a Batman quote is coming up, "burden ourselves with the secrets of scary men". Anyway, JUST watched the Christian Bale "push up" scene in "Batman Begins". MmmmMmmm, biceps. ;) Also, Katie Holmes is AAAAdorable in the movie!

I know you can't see it, but it was totally raining on me during this shoot! (Ok, more like sprinkling;) It was actually kind of funny because I had put together this outfit as my "rainy summer day" look. :) Leather jackets are the perfect way to keep the chills away on a rainy summer day! They're thick enough to keep you warm but thin enough to keep you from getting too hot. Also, I'm OBsessed with this jacket. Remember how I had mentioned a while back that I had gotten a Betsey Johnson leather jacket when Nordstrom was having their super sale? Well, this is the jacket! It. Is. Killer. I know I'm going to be wearing it NON-STOP when Fall hits! Anyway, I thought the perfect way to keep the look still light and summery would be to pair it with some slouchy boyfriend shorts, a bright bag, and heart shaped mirrored sunnies! Which, by the way, this is the third pair of sunnies I got in Vegas, and I luuuurve them! I think the heart shape is just so fun for summer! Oh, and this bag? My sissy and I fell in love with it when we stopped by the Aldo's in Vegas and decided we should go halfsies on it and split the cost!

Much love!

"Do you even LIFT Mr. Wayne?"
The point, Alfred, was to watch Christian Bale do pushups. ;)
