While You Were Sleeping

Haaaappy Monday, dudes! ;) This last week I was on a MAJOR movie binge. I watched, Jumanji, Titanic, Freaky Friday, While You Were Sleeping, and The Holiday. I know what you're all thinking, "that's a crap ton of movies, don't you have anything better to do?" The answer to that would be NO. As I'm still waiting to hear back if I'll be able to transfer from Westminster (finally!) to another school I really do have nothing else to do. Sad, sad. Anyway, back to the subject of moopies. I hadn't watched "While You Were Sleeping" since it came out when I was three, yes my parents let me watch rom com's with them, but watching it this time around made me realize that rom com's are waaaaaay more easy to appreciate when you're 22 versus 3. ;) I flippin' LOVED "While You Were Sleeping" this time around. It was so funny and cute, and Sandra Bullock looked like a flippin' BABE! Is it the weirdest story line EVER? Yep. It somehow works, though, and has ya sighin' left and right even, though, in the back of your mind your thinking, "Is it creepy that I think that a girl-pretending-to-be-engaged-to-a-comatose-guy-but-then-turning-around-and-falling-in-love-with-said-comatose-guy's-brother is the most romantic thing ever?" It works. I'd fall in love with my comatose pretend fiancee's brother any day. ;) (Not really, obviously.) Anyway, in case any of the rest of you have unlimited hours of free time on your hands, guesssss what's FINALLY coming to Netflix?! Gilmore Girls!!!! WAHOOO!!! Prepare yerselves to binge watch!! I know I will.

I've been really pulling out the Fall looks lately, and loving it, but it's making me think that maybe I should slow down a little bit and still incorporate some of my Summer pieces before it's too late and I regret it.  Either way, I'd been DYING over this h&m hat for THEEEE longest time, and just never pulled the trigger on it. It was only available online and even though I wanted it soooooo badly I just didn't want to pay shipping for it. Cheap? Maybe. But I just don't think it's worth it to pay shipping for ONE hat. Anyway, at the beginning of the month I went into h&m to buy my dad a birthday present, and what do I see? This hat lying on top of a shelf of scarves. It was literally like a light was shining down on it from above and beckoning me forward. I couldn't believe my luck at randomly finding it in stores so I rushed forward to snatch it up before anyone else could. I may or may not have shoved some disgruntled employees out of my way to get to it but, hey, we alls know h&m employees are a bunch of biznatches (most of 'em, anyway) so I have no regrets. ;) Also, I bought this skirt two or three years ago and it's seriously been one of my best purchases ever. Especially since it only cost me 9 buckeroos. Unfortunately, I've never been able to find one like it again so I'll just link some similar pretty options down below. Also, maxi skirts, dudes. They're another all season staple. Just because Summer is over doesn't mean you have to put away your maxi's. There's soooo many ways to make them still work. My favorite is pairing them with chunky sweaters! Also, Ashley did it again! I love, love, love, how these photos turned out! We were just driving around Provo when she spotted these lavender bushes and was like, "pull over, we have to shoot by those!" I'm glad we did because they turned out super cool!

Much love!

250 Words or Less

The part in my hair was freaky deaky in this post. Like, majorly. It's tooooootally cool, though. Totally. ;) Also, I'm just like the most boring person on Earth today because I have absolutely nothing interesting to say. I spent the day typing up 50% of my essays for my BYU transfer application, and guys, trying to sum up the most difficult experiences of my life in 250 words or less is INsanely difficult! Before I knew it, I had typed up a beautifully magnificent, and albeit, verbose 680 word essay. Whoops. Half way through trying to get rid of 430 of those words, with the help of my awesome sister, I felt like giving up, erasing the whole thing, and simply typing, "the hardest experience of my life has been trying to describe the hardest experience of my life in 250 words or less and what I have learned is that all that fancy shmancy vocabulary they taught me in school has proved to be more of a hindrance than a help. Now accept me into yo school!" Course, if I actually went through with typing that they'd probably just think I was an uneducated git. ;) I like the word, git. I'm not quite sure if it's just a mere insult or if it's also a bit of a "potty word", to use layman's terms, but it's said allllll the time in Harry Potter and I'm sure J.K. wouldn't put it in the books if it were bad. Right? Right? I put too much stock by Harry Potter. ;)

Tshirts and boyfriend jeans ma dudes. They're the best. They're like the all seasons staple. No matter what season it is, a tshirt and boyfriend jeans will always look good. The thing about boyfriend jeans, though, is that they don't always look so hot on the beeeehind. It's totally ok with me, though, because I don't want anyone lookin' at ma butt anyway. Also, remember this bag? It's my "smells-like-green-baby-poop" bag! In case you hadn't noticed, I've been using it allllls da times. Not even ashamed. Oh, and, bonus! The baby poop smell is starting to go away! Yaaaaay!!! Let's all celebrate!

Much love!

Not to Toot my own Horn

Somedays you just gotta celebrate because even, though, peeps be givin' ya major side eye because your outfit is weird, ya hurrs look bomb and you feel sassy in your overalls and purple rain boots! Seriously, the day I shot this look with the amazing Ashley my hair was looking uncommonly good. Not to toot my horn but, beep beep. Anyway, yall know I'd been feeling like my hair had been looking real ratchety lately so the fact that it miraculously looked this good was like, all sorts of insane. I accredit this miracle to four reasons. One, my Laced Hair Extensions. They are ridiculously wicked. Like, I full on have Beyonce hair. Two, I actually gave myself a blowout the night before these photos. Mind you, not a very good one because I have like 20lbs of thick textured hair and it takes me half an hour to just blow dry ONE section. So...yeah, my at home "blowouts" are pretty sloppy and the only reason they look even half way decent is because of my Chi hair blow dryer which is like the holy grail of blow dryers and totally worth the investment. Three, after said blowout I knew the exact kind of curl I wanted to go for but wasn't sure if I really had a curling iron for it. Then, low and behold, I remembered that I had a 1" cheapo Revlon curling iron, that had served me loyally and well for many years, that I had retired last Spring for some INsane reason. I pulled it out, clipped in my extensions, curled away, and voila BOMB a** hair! I must've been seriously insane in the brain when I decided to retire that curling iron because it is AWWWesome! Sometimes cheapo curling irons are the best. Oh, and four, Ashley is a magical unicorn photographer that makes all photos look good!!

The weather lately has been in that fun in between stage where it's not quite Summer anymore but not quite Fall. Sometimes this can be my favorite stage because it allows us to mix our Summer pieces with some of the Fall pieces we've been dying to pull out. I love mixing shorts with long sleeves and knits like this hat and scarf! Which, word on this scarf. It is INsanely soft, INsanely cozy, and INsanely adorable, if you couldn't tell. My sister crocheted it by hand and it is just ridiculously amazing! We're in the works of opening up a shop for her to more conveniently sell these babies, but in the meantime if any of you dudes are wanting a quality chunky handmade infinity scarf for the Fall/Winter email me and I will hook you up with an invoice and you get your hands on one of these bad boys! I promise you, they will go with 'errrr thing! I already have two that I've worn the crap out of! Also, these Hunters, ma dudes. I. Am. In. Love. They rock my world. I got them from Stylish Treasures, which is an INcredible IG thrift shop run by the amazeballs Brandi! I've been following her IG thrift shop for quite some time now and totally lusting over errrr' thing she posts but never actually pulling the trigger. When I saw these boots, though, I knew they had to be mine! The color was just SO unique and fun and she had them listed for an unbeatable price! I flippin' love Hunter's and I'm still in the market for some tall shaft black ones but they might have to wait awhile. You guys should ALL check out Brandi's shop, though, she has awesome finds for awesome prices and I believe she still has some Hunter's listed! As for my family's opinion on ma Hunter's, the jury is still hung! My dad and my sister love them and think they are quirky and cute! (My dad always happens to fully support the weirdest of my shoe decisions, though;) My mom, and my little brother, though? Well, let's just say I wouldn't put it past them to sneak them away in the night, cut them into little pieces, build a bonfire from their poor purple remains, and preform an Indian Rain dance around their ashes. ;)

Much love!

Only Prats say Sissy

Today was a good day. I had the day off and my sister and I turned the day into a spontaneous ginormous sister date! We spent a good couple of hours lazin' about City Creek Mall, and buying a few too many things. ;) They were all things on my wishlist though, so, yeah...totally justified. We then drove over to Fashion Place Mall to look at the exact same stores all over again just to see if they had different stuff. They did. ;) Finally, we wrapped it all up by havin' some yummy lunch at CPK. It totally rocked and I am committing this day to memory! I'm normally the type of person that would like to spend days off by doing absolutely NOTHING, not even kidding, but anytime spent with my sister is time well spent. I also recently took to calling my sisters "sissies" but just the other day my older sister showed me this thing about how anybody who calls their sister "sissy" is a douche bag. So...yeah, not callin' her sissy anymore. :) Also, the other night me and my sissy, ahem, sister, watched Titanic just for the heck of it. Well, not really for the heck of it, mostly because the first and only time I had ever seen it was back when it came out in '97 and I was five. Aaaaaand according to my sister you can't qualify as a grown up until you've watched Titanic as an adult. Soooo, as of last night, I'm a grown up. At least until my sister finds another bogus reason to tell me I don't qualify yet. ;)

Some days you just gotta dress like a crazy freak from the 80s and love it! You just gots to. It is a must in life. Trust me. Also, they say that consistency with style is a must when it comes to fashion blogging, but my style is just everywhere and anywhere and I'm totally fine with that. My style is exactly what it feels like being when I wake up in the mornin'. Simple as that. Somedays that's super girly and lady like and other days that means wearing my one size too big acid wash denim jacket with my biker boots and a ridic huge hat! Also, Ashley, my dudes. She did such a stellar job of capturing the exact mood I was going with with this look. She is magical. Not even joking. Plus, she is just a wicked person all around, and by wicked I mean awesome. So easy to get along with! If you're looking for a photographer for any sort of event check out her page, that I linked above, and book her! This girly is goin' places!

Much love!

Blah, Blah

My parents, older sister, and I have recently gotten into the odd habit of staying up late (midnight;) and watching home renovation shows on HGTV together. Super weird? Probably. ;) Even weirder evening pass time for a girl in her early twenties? Possibly. ;) But, hey, I likes ma parents. And HGTV. Seriously, that network is BOMB. The two shows we're hooked on right now are, "Flip or Flop" and "Fixer Upper". We went through an entire season of "Flip or Flop" last night and we're all depressed that we don't have anymore to watch. Another weird fact about me? I'm OBsessed with home shopping. Even when I'm not even in the market to buy a home. There's just something about looking at model homes that I love. Whenever I see signs pointing to homes for sale and/or a new neighborhood I'll follow the signs and pull over at the model home, or just grab a little flyer if it's a used home. I'm that weird. I even put up with the chatty real estate agents just so I can have the pleasure of looking around the home. That's how much I love house hunting. I mean, it's not like I'm ever going to see the real estate agents again so they'll never know I wasn't actually interested in buying the home, right? Well, except that one time...So, one time, I randomly pulled over at a new community I noticed on the way home from work, to check out the model home, and the real estate bloke that was there was probably the chattiest real estate person I've ever come across. Anyway, I see him all over the place now! I'm pretty sure he doesn't recognize me (it's weird that I recognize him) but I still get all oogedy boogedy about the fact that he might recognize me and be all, "Hey, aren't you that weird girl that came in to check out a model home claiming she was interested in buying it but never actually did?", to which I would respond, "I wouldn't have claimed I was interested in buying if you hadn't asked me so many dang questions about what my budget was and what kind of home I was looking for." Sheesh. Can't a girl house hunt for the simple pleasure of house hunting ;)

I wore this outfit to church not too long ago and I must say I love it. I love pinks mixed with cognac browns for the Fall! Not to mention that this skirt is light enough that I'm not dying of heat stroke in it. Which, quite frankly, is STELLAR because it's till pretty warm during the days! I mean, seriously, some days are still hotter than Satan's butt crack. It sucks. Especially since alls I wants ta do is wear sweaters. Pooey.

Much love!
