Cheery as a ButterCup

I know I said I'd be sharing all the emotions I was deeply feeling yesterday, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Yesterday was deeply emotional enough already and full of special experiences that I'd just rather keep it to myself if that's cool with you guys. Anyway, before I started typing I actually had this totally genius idea for a funny post and now...it's gone. I seriously haven't the slightest clue what it might have been. My memory is pretty shotty. Anyway, last weekend I got bucket loads of nerd movie time in. I watched Godzilla and X-Men: Days of Future Past. Both were swasing stella. I've been a fan of both Godzilla and X-Men since childhood and neither disappointed. Holla! If any of you loves are comic nerds, like me, go and see them! Stat! ALSO! The Rush Hour movies are up on Xfinity OnDeman right now, and I'm like full on asthma attack freaking out about it! I LOVE those movies! Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan? Match made in heaven. Hallelu. Those two can make me laugh and feel cheerier than a buttercup better than anything! ALSO, ALSO! I've been keeping up practicing Ashtanga Yoga, and I must say, it is going marvelously. Even, though, I'm no were near as proficient as I aim to be, I can completely already feel the major changes it's making both physically and spiritually. It really is such a zen and enlightening experience to embark on the Yoga journey. I'm seeing this through you guys! After only a week I can already begin to feel how it is completely a journey of finding myself and getting to know my body on a deeper level! Not to mention that it's hard as crap.

Also, I'm feeling like I need some hair change. I know I definitely want to go for the uber long bohemian look, but getting it to that length is getting a little boring. I'm thinking bangs? Maybe? I don't know, every time I think I want bangs and I go out and get bangs I regret it ten seconds later. Ce la vie, am I right? If only I had Jennifer Lawrence's hair dresser, THEN I wouldn't hesitate about getting bangs for one second. Seriously, that girl has the most perfect beyond perfect bangs that I have ever seen. The scene in the latest X-Men movie when she's got this amazing retro floppy hat on is just divine. She looks fantastic. Anyway, celeb obsessions aside, I'm seriously loving my 'ralls. I know the overalls trend isn't for everybody, but I'm seriously loving it. Mostly because, if it reminds me of being 5, then I love it. Also, I'm SOOOO glad I snapped up these mirrored sunnies back in February when they were still in stock because now I can't find a pair like them ANYWHERE! Which, is kind of saddening because I've scratched these up pretty bad and I'd love to get a replacement pair. If any of you know of a place with sunnies like these in stock please inform me! :)

Much love!

Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

These pictures are really funny to me. Mostly because I can never pull off the "serious" look without looking like a derp. Seriously. Whenever I attempt the "serious" look I mostly just end up looking like I've got a lazy eye, like I'm severely constipated, or both. That's why these pictures are funny to me, because for once I managed to pull off the "serious" look without looking like any of those things...I hope. ;) I think the trick was these sunnies. I'm sure if there was a way to show what my eyes look like behind the sunglasses in these photos you'd see what I mean about looking like a constipated derp. ;) I watched Frozen on DVD with my pops last night and it was so fun. I had already seen the movie in theaters with my sissys but there was no way I was going to pass up a chance to watch it with my dad. I know there has been some serious debate over Frozen, but honestly? I don't really currr. I liked it, and the way I see it, it's just a cute movie about the power of sisterhood. And. I. Love. Sisterhood. :) Anyway, watching it with my pops took me back to the good old days when, together with my sisters, we would watch ALL of the Disney classics for hours at a time. Twas the best. I mean, he watched hours of froo froo princess movies with his three girls and genuinely loved it. I love my dad. :)

The last few days here in Utah have been crazy windy and rainy. It's kinda sucked, actually. Don't get me wrong, I love to run in a good summer rain, but it isn't summer and it isn't nearly warm enough for the rain to be very enjoyable yet. Anyway, chilly Spring weather calls for cozy sweatshirts, like this star studded one, skinny jeans, and chilaxed sneakers. And yes, I just said chilaxed. I know, I know, that hasn't been a thing since like, 2002, but I think we all know I'm pretty outdated when it comes to my vernacular. ;) Also, I can't even believe it's already April! I mean, what the swa swa? Where did all the time go? I feel like it should still be December! Eek!

Much love!

Like a London Chap

So...I'm wearing my London tee again, and the burn on my forehead is as poopy brown as ever. ;) But, hey, I mean, poop brown forehead smudges that resemble skin cancer are totally hot, right? Totally. ;) Ah well, I've always been a big fan of scars anyway, adding another to my vast repertoire is actually a positive thing in my book. I was going to make this whole post about how in love, nay, obsessed I am with England but I mean, how many times can you all really hear about how once upon a time I became enchanted with a story about a boy wizard, then fell in love with the gent to end all gents, Mr. Darcy, read every single book by a certain young lady, sir name Austen, felt all female empowered when I read the romance of a certain Miss Eyre, and was completely entranced by every thing from the music down to the scenery of the 2005 version of P&P? I think the, oh, bazillion, times I've already talked about this probably suffices. I will say this, though, my heart belongs at Pemberly, my last name should be Darcy (or Bingley, I'm not picky;), I deserve to have magical powers and be the ginger best friend of a one Mr. Potter, and I, and every female in the world for that matter, deserve to have one off the charts romantic letter a la Persuasion written to us. Also, I look like a London chap. Yes, I'm calling myself a bloke. I mean, I'm wearing plaid, grandpa loafers and leather-ish pants. If that isn't what a London chap dresses like, than I don't know London (I don't).

Oh, and, guys? My novela (Spanish soap-opera) ended! Boo. ;( I hate when my novelas end! Also? Now that I'm older, I can fully appreciate just how cheesy novelas are. I mean, people get ACID thrown in their faces. ACID. People get beheaded, tortured, kidnapped on the regular, fall in and out of love, come back from the dead (at least once), and have some sort of debilitating facial deformity that somehow manages to get fixed with some sort of miraculous surgery that makes them beautiful...but I like the cheese. The Chad likes the cheese. The Chad likes the cheese. Sorry, lame Charley's Angels reference, I know.

I know I've already said this, but I'm just SUPER stoked that the 90's have made their comeback. Super. Now that I'm not between the ages of 0-7 I can fully appreciate half ponytails, leggings, shirts/sweaters tied around my waist, and knee high socks. I mean, back in the day, the only reason I wore a sweater tied around my waist was for the convenience of having somewhere to tie it around when I got hot. ;) Also, I LOVE these sunglasses! I love how bright they are and that they change from blue/green to blue/purple, depending on the light. Well, I'm off, mother nature has delivered me her monthly uterus punch and I require lots and lots of tea & cookies, and ice cream to make a full recovery from wanting to spend my entire day doing this...

Much love!

P.S. This is what happens when you try to explain to your kid brother exactly what portion of your body a close up should encompass. Also, I swear I shave, those are just the hollows of my pits, not crazy long hair. ;)

Like a Cave Woman Huntin' Down 'Dat Groundhog

So much news, my dudes, so much news. First and foremost? My leetle seester is now officially gone serving a mission! It's so odd not having her around and it feels so surreal. I miss having my little "go everywhere with me" buddy! In fact, I miss her so much it aches. I know I need to focus more on the fact that she is serving others and less on the fact that she isn't with me anymore, though. So, let's move on from the loneliness that is currently occupying a sizable chunk of my lil' heart and move onto cheerier topics. Currently,  my fam bam and I are headed to San Francisco! My grandpa is getting remarried on Friday, at the San Francisco temple, and we're all hurrying over for the event! Not that San Fran is particularly warm right now, but I'm excited to escape these snow storms we've been having over the last couple of days here in Utah. Because, honestly? These last couple of days have really made me realize something. I hate the snow. I mean, I can handle the cold until kingdom come, but snow? I can barely put up with it for more than ten minutes. The last few weeks when the snow had pretty much melted and the sun was high and bright were pretty much heavenly! I'm sad they didn't last. Stupid ground hog. Why does he always have to see his dumb shadow?! Is there ever a year when the annoying little sucker doesn't see his shadow?  I don't think so...
In other news, I've been pretty much living like a cave woman these last few months. No phone. No car. No nothin'. Well, technically, I've never had a car so that isn't new, but ya know, I've actually started to get used to this no phone thing! It's been pretty much a full THREE months since I lost my phone, and now, I'm pretty much used to it. It's surprisingly not too bad. It's kind of like being free of an iron cuff. I pay more attention to my surroundings, I'm more present during conversations, and life just has more of that simplicity that I'm always craving. Kind of ironic that I'll finally be able to get a new one in the next couple of days. When I get it, though, I'm going to make a concerted effort not to get as attached to it as I was before. Dependency on anything is an unnecessary evil. :)

I know what you're all thinking, "those sunglasses look suspiciously new"...and they are. BUT, I have not broken my no shopping challenge! How you may wonder? Well, after Christmas I exchanged a pair of boots I had gotten from Forever21 because I ended up not liking the fit, and as we all know, Forever21 doesn't do refunds. So, I had to settle for getting a gift card with store credit. I ended up never spending it, so I just had a gift card with a good $30 lying around unspent until now. The sunnies only cost a glorious $5 so I still had some extra cash to spend. To be honest, I pretty much spent almost all of the gift card on sunglasses (I got three pairs) and the rest on a couple of t-shirts. Nothing too spectacular. Even, though, I didn't break my challenge because I didn't actually spend any of my own money, it still wasn't a good idea for me to enter a mall with the intention of getting things for myself. It kind of gave me that crazy, "I need to get everything" buzz that I had been working so hard to get under control. The mall is no friend to me right now. I shall stay away. I promise. In other news, though? I kind of look like a 90s teen...and I like it. Ya know, that whole plaid shirt tied around my waist, and sneakers look? I'm kind of super excited that a lot of the 90s fashion trends are making their way back into style because when it actually was the 90s I was between the ages of 0-8, so I was too young to really appreciate fashion! What are your takes on the return of the 90s?

Much love!

P.S. My Bubba Bear literally spent the whole day crying from how much he missed my little sister. Look at those tears in his eyes.
He needed a smooch. So I gave him one. Never mind that he isn't even technically allowed on school grounds. Me and my Bubba Bear are rule breakers, we smooch wherever we dang well please. ;)
