Oldies

I saw the grossest thing at work the other day. I don't even know why I'm sharing it with you guys because it was seriously disgusting. But, eh, I've never been one to be discreet on here so here goes. I was just being a good little ol' worker mindin' my own business when in walks this customer with a limp. I noticed he had an arm behind his back so I thought there might have been something wrong with his arm too. BUT, as he walked away I got a glance at his backside and his limp was being caused by a very thorough butt scratching!!! So foul, right?! I bet you all hate me now for sharing that lovely little gem! In other news, my yoga subscription ends next Tuesday and I'm thoroughly depressed! Boo! Also, I love old people. I really, really do. If it were solely up to me and not a little bit creepy all my best friends would be old people. They're just so dang nice, and equally as deaf, clueless, and slow moving as I am. ;)

I love, love, love, mixing textures and one of my favorite ways of doing that is by mixing denim with plaid! It's understated yet fun! If you're wanting to experiment with mixing textures this is definitely a mix to start you off with! It's also fun to do it with the plaid over the denim. I had also been dying to do another post with this lovely tulle skirt because I haven't worn it nearly enough!

Much love!

Trend Alert: The Folded Over Tote

These photos are so funny to me because right as Shailynn and I were shooting them a group of teenage girls stopped on their way into the theater to stare at us. Now, that in and of itself isn't too funny, the funny part was that as they stood their staring they started whispering to each other, "Is that Kylie Jenner?"..."I think it is, look at her hair. It's the same color."..."Should we say something?" This was mainly amusing to me because Kylie is about a good 7 inches taller than me, 5 years younger (she's 17, can you believe it?!), and her hair is currently blue/green, not purple. Sad that I know all this? Probably. Buuuut, I did confess to you all that I'm a closet "Keeping up with the Kardashians" fan. "Don't judge me, Lizzy. Don't you dare judge me." Sorry, I just had to throw in that Pride & Prejudice quote because it fit so well, don't you dare judge me for my like of that silly reality TV show, you guys, don't you dare judge me. ;) There are so many things on my to do list, and so many "just-for-fun" things that I'd like to do this week. Mostly little social outings that would very likely involve making possibly important connections and yet alls I wants to do is procrastinate it all, stay at home, and watch The Mindy Project. I'm so bad. Mostly, I'm just suffering from mild cold symptoms and I would like to stay snuggled until I feel better.  Anyone want to take care of all my business for me so I can chill at home? Eh? Eh? Any takers? Didn't think so. ;)

I don't know about you guys, but I follow MadeWell's blog on Bloglovin' (it's really quite good and you should all follow it) and one of the trend's they predicted for this Fall season was the "Tote as a Clutch" trend. I decided to try it out and I'm totally digging it. I feel like it just has a way of making an outfit look instantly more chic and it's easy as pie all you have to do is take any old tote bag, I used my "baby-poop-smell" one, and fold it in half letting the shoulder straps hang loose. Bam. Insta glam. Insta updated trend. Also, plaid and booties. If they don't scream fall then I don't know what does. Also, happy first day of Fall!!! Yay!! It is O-ffically my favorite season of the year now! Which also means that four days ago I turned 22 and a HALF! Carazzy? Mmm, yes. Anyway, I'll link some totes I'm lovin' down below so you can all get yerselves one to try out the "tote-clutch" trend!

Much love!

Spaceman Says Everybody Look Down

MAJOR points to anyone who can tell what band t-shirt I'm wearing and knows what lyrics the title of this post was made after!! Seriously, if you know, you are an awesome human and we need to be best friends, like, stat!! Anyway, I've been revisiting oldies but goodies this past week. Both in my choice of Netflix binges and obsessive book readings. Netflix wise, I've been turning to "The Justice League". Admittedly because I heard my sister re-watching it and so I of course had to follow suit. I'm a comic/super hero geek all the way so no judging from the peanut gallery about the fact that I'm obsessively watching cheesy cartoons night and day. ;) I'm also a die hard DC girl. Pooey on Marvel. Pooey. Although, I have to admit, I do have a major soft spot for the classic "Spidey and Friends" cartoon and "The X-Men"...but that'll be our little secret. Shhh. Tell no one. ;) Book wise, I've started re-reading "The Mediator" series by Meg Cabot. Before we continue, though, can we just get an amen hallelu for Meg, queen of all teen literature? Amen hallelu, Meg! Holla to ya sista. I mean, I honestly thought I wouldn't enjoy teen fiction as much now that I'm 22 but The Mediator is still just as good now as it was when I first read it at 13. Maybe it's because technically I'm not even an adult yet. They say that the brain and body doesn't really mature into the adult stage of life till 25, so I've still got another 3 years of being a kid! Whoop, whoop!!

We've been having some pretty nutso weather here in Utah. Sunshine, rain, sleet, hail, SNOW, and back to sunshine all in one day. Nothin' new for Utah I guess. :) Anyway, even though it IS technically Spring the weather doesn't always cooperate with us, so for that reason, this week I'm bringing you all chilly weather wear! We're kickin' off the week's chilly weather outfits with these moto boots! Seriously, you guys, motorcycle boots are def a trend to try! They're comfy, edgy, and just a little bit...dare I say it...cool! Not to mention that they're SO versatile. I mean, pair 'em with jeans and you've got an edgy biker/punk look BUT, pair 'em with a lacey tunic dress and you've got yourself the ultimate cool girl juxtaposition!! Not to mention that they make my need to cuff my jeans look a LOT cooler! Basically, these boots are magical and can make even the geekiest of girls (meeeee) look cool. Not that I ever aspired to that or anything, but we're talkin' James Dean kick some hard core butt "cool", not snootty queen bee "cool". Also, band tees? How awesome are they? Want to amp up the unique factor in an outfit? Throw on a band tee! I love that my little sister has LITERALLY bought a t-shirt at EVERY SINGLE concert we've been to! It's the best, I need to start following suit! Now, just because I absolutely CANNOT resist quoting some more Killers, "Run neon tiger, there's a lot on your mind, they'll strategize and maim you, but don't let them tame you. You're far too pure and bold". Be bold my Neon Tigers!! Rawwr! Ok, that was lame. Who do I think I am, Lady Gaga? My apologies. ;)

Much love!

P.S. "Comin' out of my cage and I've been doin' just fine. Gotta, gotta be down because I want it all...Destiny is calling me, open up my eager eyes!" Sorry, had to do it. Those Killers are lyrical genius' (mostly Brandon). How they slay me. Pun intended. ;) Who am I kidding? My puns are always intended. :)

Like a London Chap

So...I'm wearing my London tee again, and the burn on my forehead is as poopy brown as ever. ;) But, hey, I mean, poop brown forehead smudges that resemble skin cancer are totally hot, right? Totally. ;) Ah well, I've always been a big fan of scars anyway, adding another to my vast repertoire is actually a positive thing in my book. I was going to make this whole post about how in love, nay, obsessed I am with England but I mean, how many times can you all really hear about how once upon a time I became enchanted with a story about a boy wizard, then fell in love with the gent to end all gents, Mr. Darcy, read every single book by a certain young lady, sir name Austen, felt all female empowered when I read the romance of a certain Miss Eyre, and was completely entranced by every thing from the music down to the scenery of the 2005 version of P&P? I think the, oh, bazillion, times I've already talked about this probably suffices. I will say this, though, my heart belongs at Pemberly, my last name should be Darcy (or Bingley, I'm not picky;), I deserve to have magical powers and be the ginger best friend of a one Mr. Potter, and I, and every female in the world for that matter, deserve to have one off the charts romantic letter a la Persuasion written to us. Also, I look like a London chap. Yes, I'm calling myself a bloke. I mean, I'm wearing plaid, grandpa loafers and leather-ish pants. If that isn't what a London chap dresses like, than I don't know London (I don't).

Oh, and, guys? My novela (Spanish soap-opera) ended! Boo. ;( I hate when my novelas end! Also? Now that I'm older, I can fully appreciate just how cheesy novelas are. I mean, people get ACID thrown in their faces. ACID. People get beheaded, tortured, kidnapped on the regular, fall in and out of love, come back from the dead (at least once), and have some sort of debilitating facial deformity that somehow manages to get fixed with some sort of miraculous surgery that makes them beautiful...but I like the cheese. The Chad likes the cheese. The Chad likes the cheese. Sorry, lame Charley's Angels reference, I know.

I know I've already said this, but I'm just SUPER stoked that the 90's have made their comeback. Super. Now that I'm not between the ages of 0-7 I can fully appreciate half ponytails, leggings, shirts/sweaters tied around my waist, and knee high socks. I mean, back in the day, the only reason I wore a sweater tied around my waist was for the convenience of having somewhere to tie it around when I got hot. ;) Also, I LOVE these sunglasses! I love how bright they are and that they change from blue/green to blue/purple, depending on the light. Well, I'm off, mother nature has delivered me her monthly uterus punch and I require lots and lots of tea & cookies, and ice cream to make a full recovery from wanting to spend my entire day doing this...

Much love!

P.S. This is what happens when you try to explain to your kid brother exactly what portion of your body a close up should encompass. Also, I swear I shave, those are just the hollows of my pits, not crazy long hair. ;)

Straight from the 50s

There's nothing quite like family. Sorry to get cheesy on you all today, but it's true. I just love seeing my mom interact with her siblings! After spending a lifetime apart, it's just so great to see how they can so easily pick up were they left off and have SO much to talk and laugh about. It's the greatest, especially since their laughter is so infectious. I mean, put my mom in the same room as her siblings and it's like an instant comedy show. Sometimes I wish we all still lived in the same country. Family relationships are just irreplaceable, and everyday I'm more and more grateful that my mom encouraged my siblings and I to build a strong sibling bond. I love having that support system and the constant knowledge that no matter WHAT I have three constant best friends to count on. Plus, it's just fun having people who know EVERY SINGLE part of you...and still like you anyway.
Sunday was a super cloudy and mildly rainy day so I decided to go with darker colors. I love pairing plaid with denim. It's one of my favorite combinations! Denim shirt on top and plaid layered underneath OR plaid on top and denim underneath. Either way, I love it! I'm also very in love with this skirt from ChicWish. I got it sometime in November last year and I've been wearing it constantly ever since. It's just the perfect basic piece for Sunday wear. Not to mention that the shape and length are utter perfection! I've been really trying to work on my personal modesty, and this skirt is the perfect piece to help me do just that. Also, can you tell I didn't give a monkey's fart about doing my hair today? I was tired from a long week and I just honestly didn't give a toot about trying anything fancy, so I just threw it up into a ponytail on top of my head. Quick solution? Check! Never mind my flyaway baby hairs. ;)
