Guys. School starts tomorrow. AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have class bright and early at 8:00am. So delicious, am I right? ;) Seriously, though, I don't actually mind, haha. I'm a morning person ALL the way so morning classes are actually really good for me. That's when my mind is the most awake. I know, I'm not a normal human. What else is new? ;) As far as classes go, though, since I registered so late in the game I didn't exactly get the cream of the crop when it came to classes and many of the classes I need to take just straight up weren't available. Sucks to suck. Which, apparently in this instance, I sucked at registering. I seriously can't wait to get started, though! I know this is going to sound super freaky, but I flippin' LOVE homework. I know, I know, I'm certifiable. The doctors may cart me away now. I'm whacky. ;) Some people are street smart and others are book smart and I guess I'm just one of those book smart peeps. All the way. As far as I'm concerned, real life can suck it. I'd rather spend the rest of my life endlessly learning, studying for exams, reading textbooks, and writing essays. Ask me to book a flight? Not a clue. Ask me to write a 30 page paper analyzing the channels of communication within a business organization, how they work, and theorize a new mode of functional communication within said organization and be the only student to get an A? Boom. Cake. Anyway, I don't know where I'm going with this anymore...maybe that I'm excited for school? Yeah, we'll go with that. Oh, oh, in other unrelated news, though! I'm back on the Maroon 5 bandwagon! I had LOVED "Songs About Jane", their first album, but after that I just wasn't a huge fan anymore. All the stuff of theirs that I heard on the radio, was just "meh". Oh, and then when that "Pay Phone" song came out? I was like, "mmmm, definitely hate them now." Anyway, a cute human of the male persuasion (That sounds so weird. Why I didn't just say "boy" is beyond me. Again I say, I am whacky;) told me to put on a Maroon 5 song from their new album and I sort of fell in love with them again. Seriously, I've been listening to the new album NON stop! A few favorites, "Coming Back For You", "Unkiss Me", and "Sugar". Also, there's this lyric from one of the other songs on the album that says, "Woke up sweaty from a dream" but for a few days there I was singing, "Woke up sweaty from a tree". Haha, I didn't realize I had misheard it till I stopped to think about it and realized that "woke up sweaty from a tree" makes absolutely no sense. I'm hard of hearing apparently haha. :)
So winter is pretty much fading fast here in Utah (knock on wood) and I'm pretty excited about it! Some days are still fairly chilly, though, so this chunky turtle neck sweater is PERFECT! It's so toasty and cozy! Also, layering chunky sweaters on top of skirts is a great alternative to the typical sweater+leggings winter uniform. Also, the trick to wearing skirts in the winter is boots, boots, boots! Seriously, get yerselves a pair of over the knee boots and you're pretty much set! Also, once again, Shailynn is DA best. Girl makes me crack up alls the times and she is insanely good at what she does so once again I say, BOOK HER.
I think I may have mentioned a couple of (more like a thousand) times that Utah has been bone DRY this winter. It's been so insane. I never really thought of myself as snow person, at ALL. In fact, I sort of hated it. I hated the slush, always having moist socks from snow somehow ALWAYS managing to seep it's way into my boots, people being ridiculous drivers in snowy conditions, and just the ickyness in general. These last couple of years of being a runner, though, really started changing my perspective. Running at least 25 miles a week in snow really made me realize that 1-it really isn't that cold, and 2-the world just looks so magical covered in a blanket of snow! Then with this year being so snow-less I realized that I might even LIKE the snow. I know, crazy. Anyway, over the weekend Rach and I went snow chasing and found ourselves a winter wonderland up at Silver Lake. Seriously, it was GORGEOUS! We were like a pair of giddy 5 year olds! Oh my heck, there aren't even words in the dictionary to properly describe just how dreamy it was! Utah really is such a beautiful place and I can't say enough times how happy I am to live here! Since Rach and I went up for the sole purpose of shooting we weren't really dressed appropriately for snow games so I'm DYING to go back up and build a snowman, make a snow angel, have a snowball fight, and just goof off! I think I might have to rescind my previous statement about "liking" the snow now because I think I just might LOVE it!

I love neutral colors with a passion but I also LURVE me some Christmas colors too so for this look I mixed the two together. Also, there's nothing cozier than a chunky sweater and thick scarf, am I right? If I had a cabin with a fireplace this would definitely be my go to look for snuggling up by the fire with hot cocoa (or is just coco? who knows..)
You know what's super uber annoying? When you're just peacefully minding your own business and your brain goes, "You know what we haven't thought of in a long time? That one time that super embarrassing thing happened. Heehee. You should think of that now." That's been happening to me this whoooooole week. It's like, "Thank you brain, that's exactly what I needed right now. It's not like I just barely got over being embarrassed by that or anything." Super annoying but ce la vie, right? Also, I have some preeeeeetty exciting life news to share with you all but I'm going to be super annoying by doing that thing where I tell you I have super exciting news but I don't actually say what the news is. So ha! ;) Just kidding. I'm only holding off on announcing it because, ummmmm, as with all things in life I want to have cute announcement photos to go with it! (No, I'm not pregnant. Sickos. I'm not even married.;)

In case you couldn't tell by the fact that I've posted twice in a row about it, I love this coat! It's seriously the perfect basic coat. It goes well with everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! Not to mention it's all sorts of warm. In fact, I suddenly don't hate the cold as much anymore from how bundled up this baby keeps me. Who knew all I needed to get accustomed to the cold, these past 18 years of living in Utah, was to get over my "this-outfit-is-too-cute-to-ruin-with-an-annoying-coat" thing? Go figure. ;) Also, this leather skirt. It's UH-mazing! This is my first time actually posting about it but I've pretty much been wearing it like crazy since I got it way back in September. Is it crazy that September is already considered "way back"? Also, guys, camel and black? Best color combo in the history of color combos. Aaaand, leather and wool? B-E-A-UTIFUL. (Bruce Almighty reference anyone?)
Kay, are any of you guys watching "Once Upon a Time"? I totally am, and I'm looooving it! I don't care what anybody says, I'm huge fan of "Frozen" so I love that they're doing a whole story line based on Anna and Elsa. Basically, I'm just a sucker for anything about sisterhood, though, so that's why I love Frozen so stinkin' much. Also, Captain Hook? Talk about MmmMmm good. ;) Aaaaaaalso, whoever said a 5'3 girl couldn't put up a 9foot tree never met me. I've got the scabbed bloody hands to prove that it's possible. I'm not even kidding, after spreading out all of those stupid branches my hands were a bloody scabby mess. Christmas joy, right? ;) Also, I've been jamming out to Michael Buble's and David Archuleta's Christmas albums nonstop, holla! I love Christmas. So much! Also, on a completely unrelated and sort of mean note, I helped a customer with butt breath today and I hated him. Stupid butt breath man. Kay, sorry, I just had to let that out. I'm done being mean.

Kay, I just have to preface any outfit talk by saying, I HATE winter coats. I never wear them. I think they're a hindrance more than anything else and I would rather suffer through cold than ruin a cute outfit with a coat. This year, though, that all changed. I looked through my sister's closet full of all of these GORGEOUS coats and I thought, "Man, I'm stupid. Coats are cool. Coats are fancy. Coats are puuuuurrrrdy." Sooooo, I got a coat. Aaaaand, I sort of love it. I decided to go with a thick camel coat because I knew it would be a timeless classic that would go well with EVERYTHING, and it does. Plus, I don't know if you guys knew this or not, buuuuuut coats are WARM. You're welcome for sharing that piece of hitherto unknown gold with you all. ;) Anyway, if you're in the market for a winter coat this baby will cover ya! Plusss, there's 30% off Old Navy items with the code CHEER until the end of today!
