Change, Change is Good

Life is such a funny thing. It's up, down, and all around and somehow still amazing! I don't know if I mentioned this last week or not, ... but I started a new job! AH! I'm so, so, so excited for the new beginning and from the days I've already worked I can tell I'm really going to like this job! I'm such an oddball when it comes to change, though. I'll drag my heels fighting tooth & nail for all of the moments leading up to any big change but then when it actually happens I sort of love it! I think it's maybe just because I'm so sentimental about everything and I get very emotionally attached to silly things pretty easily. Heck, I can't even clean out my closet because I get so attached to everything in it! My sister hatesssss me for it because I never have ANY room in my closet from keeping things in there from when I was in middle school. I mean, memories!! (Not that I remember middle school with too much fondness;) Anyway, aside from really loving my new job, I'm tooootally missing working at the DMV! I know, I know, SUPER weird. It's not exactly known for being the cheeriest place around but I got pretty attached to that stinkin' place! I loved all my oldie co-workers (seriously, 90% of them where white haired grandparents) I LOVED getting to see about a hundred different people in one day, and I just sort of liked helping everyone register their vehicles. It was weirdly enjoyable even if it was insanely monotonous! Oh well, though, change is good, it means I'm just moving forward! Also, Christmas season, guyssss! I'm all sorts of INSANELY excited! Christmas is my FAVORITE time of year! I am 100% one of those crazy chipper Christmas people and I'm dang proud of it! I wish I could somehow convince my entire ward that we should sing all three sacrament hymns STANDING, though, because I feel like you can't really get in the proper Christmas hymn mood if you're sitting!

I'm SO excited to finally be posting some Holiday looks! Rachel and I had so much fun shooting at The Grand America with all of it's twinkling lights! Also, when it comes to Holiday outfits you can never go wrong with a little red! Anyway, I'm running out of writing steam, here, so I think that's all I've really got to say. I know, I stink. But see that crazy face I'm making in that last photo? That is the face of a girl who is crazy excited for Christmas! Heck to the yeah!

Much love!

A Little Man who Didn't Like Flan

Haaaaaaappy Monday loves! Not. Mondays are pooey. ;) Anyway, I was just thinking about the influx of traffic and readers to this lil' space of ours lately and I realized that I haven't really done a "formal" intro of myself for our new friends! I mean, I know I've got my handy dandy little tabs up top that do a pretty good job of introducing my weird little self, but I feel like the only real information that can be gleaned from my tabs is that I'm, what I like to lovingly refer to myself as, "adorkable". Haha, kidding. Kidding. I don't think anyone actually thinks of me that way, but I am a dork. Anyway, I thought I'd put together a fun little list of five random things about myself so any new readers can get to know me a little better. Here goes...
  1. The only two foods I ever crave in life are, Orange Juice...and Flan. I'm sort of obsessed with them. OJ just makes me happy, and I mean the juice not the person. Haha I'm so punny. ;) And, well, flan is...flan. I mean, who couldn't love that caramely gooey good stuff?! I know who, Ben Stiller. Anyone remember that movie, "Envy", he was in with Jack Black? Ya know, "VaPOOrize". Ringing any bells? Well, there are multiple flan references in that movie. Check it, here's one.
  2. I frequently daydream about being on The Voice. I would pick either Adam or Blake as my coach and I would try out with this song. Still contemplating what I would wear, though...Anyway, that's how thoroughly I've thought it out. ;) Now if only I could sing...
  3. I'm very particular about the cheese that I like, but if I could, I would subsist on cheese sticks and queso fresco. I love those suckers.
  4. Bed time is my least favorite time of the day. I never sleep well, and I just kind of think it's boring. I'd rather be doing other things. Crazy much? Yes, but I never claimed otherwise. ;)
  5. I invent my own catch phrases. I have a few of them listed on my "isms" tab, but right now I'm playing around with "donka schoen". I mean, I know it's already a phrase in German, but I'm playing around with using it as a verb. For instance, "I'm going to go all donka schoen on your butt", or, "Don't get all donka schoen on me". I'm also playing around with using "das auto" in place of "that's funny". Whenever my sister says something even remotely amusing I'll chime in with my, "das auto".  I guess I have a thing for the German language. :)

I wore this look yesterday for church. I was going for a classic "50s school teacher" look, which actually ended up working out perfectly because one of my fellow Sunday School teachers got sick and I was asked to teach the lesson last minute. The outfit planning part of my brain secretly knew that was going to happen. ;) Really, though, the whole night before I had been feeling that I needed to study the lesson as if I were going to teach it, but like a little dummy, I ignored it and sho 'nuff I was asked to fill in a few hours before church. Recognizing promptings of the Spirit can be hard sometimes, but I'm definitely never doubting myself again. If I feel I need to do something I just gosh dang gotta do it. :) Anyway, I've had this skirt for a while now and I'm still just as in love with it as ever. I love it's color, movement, shape, and most of all modesty. It's hard to find a cute modest skirt these days! :) Also, these heels? Yeah, they're pretty much the highest heels I have EVER worn in my life. My foot is SO arched in them!! Every time I take them off I get a case of Barbie Foot for a couple of hours. Don't know what Barbie Foot is? Eets joost when your feet get stuck in that arched position. Anyway, these babies are definitely a challenge to walk in without feeling like I might loose my balance and plunge forward to a tragic death at any moment.

Much love!

Ya da Ya da

I feel like I write this post every month. The whole, "I promised I wouldn't change my blog design, ya da ya da, I just couldn't help myself, ya da ya da." This time around my excuse is that I just got a free trial of Photoshop, InDesign, AND Illustrator so well, I just had to. ;) Guys, the difference is NIGHT and DAY. I mean, look at the crispness of the header image! AND the clarity of the social media tabs! Sigh, I'm dying. I wish I could afford to actually BUY the entire Creative Suite. If only, right? I think I'll just make myself a good six or eight blog designs while my free trial lasts so I can have new templates to switch out whenever I get antsy. In other news, I've been having a lot of deep thoughts as of late, which, if we're going to be brief, sum up to this, life is goooood, yo. Lately, I've just been feeling super grateful for my outwardly "boring" life. And really, I've just been having one of those weeks were all of the incredible blessings in my life are especially evident. Even the simple things, like just plain old being alive. I mean, if we think about it, just plain old waking up in the morning everyday is a huge blessing. I just love everyone and everything right now. Love. Love. Love. I swear I'm not whacked up on cotton candy right now.

Also, my hair is getting to that stage where it's just blah. Ya know, that poopy stage where it just never sits quite right, and just always looks weird? Yeah, that stage. For the most part, I've been wearing it parted in the middle but since it's hit that weird stage it just hasn't been looking so hot. I think I'm going to go to a salon and get some shape put into it and have it actually get cut for a middle part. Snippy snip. Oh, and just a quick announcement! I won't have my usual Tuesday post up in lieu of a MAJOR post I'll have for you all on Wednesday! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some Downtown to watch. And last episode, Lady Edith was about to go off on a 9 month sabbatical, to deliver a...package...if you catch my drift. Sssssscandalous.
