Holiday Dresses

holiday dresses

chevron sequined dress// gold sequined dress// red shift dress// black lace dress// maroon midi dress

Heyya peeps! I just wanted to make a quick post today about all of the holiday dresses I'm loving obsessing over. I for cereal (see my "isms" tab if you don't get what that phrase means) hardly ever have any parties to go to during the Christmas season. I know, I know, I'm sooooo lame. Anyways, since I don't ever really have a whole lot of Christmas parties to go to I sort of just turn every Sunday in December at church into an excuse to dress up SUPER holiday-ish. Hopefully you guys have more stuff going on during the Holiday's than I do so you can take full advantage of the awesome sauce dresses!

Once

Kay, are any of you guys watching "Once Upon a Time"? I totally am, and I'm looooving it! I don't care what anybody says, I'm huge fan of "Frozen" so I love that they're doing a whole story line based on Anna and Elsa. Basically, I'm just a sucker for anything about sisterhood, though, so that's why I love Frozen so stinkin' much. Also, Captain Hook? Talk about MmmMmm good. ;) Aaaaaaalso, whoever said a 5'3 girl couldn't put up a 9foot tree never met me. I've got the scabbed bloody hands to prove that it's possible. I'm not even kidding, after spreading out all of those stupid branches my hands were a bloody scabby mess. Christmas joy, right? ;) Also, I've been jamming out to Michael Buble's and David Archuleta's Christmas albums nonstop, holla! I love Christmas. So much! Also, on a completely unrelated and sort of mean note, I helped a customer with butt breath today and I hated him. Stupid butt breath man. Kay, sorry, I just had to let that out. I'm done being mean.

Kay, I just have to preface any outfit talk by saying, I HATE winter coats. I never wear them. I think they're a hindrance more than anything else and I would rather suffer through cold than ruin a cute outfit with a coat. This year, though, that all changed. I looked through my sister's closet full of all of these GORGEOUS coats and I thought, "Man, I'm stupid. Coats are cool. Coats are fancy. Coats are puuuuurrrrdy." Sooooo, I got a coat. Aaaaand, I sort of love it. I decided to go with a thick camel coat because I knew it would be a timeless classic that would go well with EVERYTHING, and it does. Plus, I don't know if you guys knew this or not, buuuuuut coats are WARM. You're welcome for sharing that piece of hitherto unknown gold with you all. ;) Anyway, if you're in the market for a winter coat this baby will cover ya! Plusss, there's 30% off Old Navy items with the code CHEER until the end of today!

Much love!

TurTurKeyKey

Soooo, I'm not dead. In case y'all where wondering. Nor did I take a trip off of the face of the Earth. Nope. Nothing cool like that. I just didn't post for a WHOLE week because I'm lame. I hadn't shot any outfits so I thought I had nothing to post but then I realized, "hey, this is my blog and I can post when I want and what I want." So I could've posted a picture of an elephant if I really felt like it and typed up all of the magnificent thoughts I have floating around my head. ;) Buuuut I didn't. Which goes to show that I'm just sort of lazy. ;) I did however take that week off to really catch up on some other blogs that I enjoy and they really made me realize something. I'm a writer. I love to write. It makes me happy to tell the stories of my day to day shenanigans to you guys, whether or not you actually read them. Just like I'm a writer, I'm also a reader and I LOVE reading blogs that are well written, funny, and relatable. They're the blogs I look forward to reading everyday. This blog was once, well written. As of late, though, I got so caught up in transforming it into something more chic, more simplistic, more "high end"...more something that it's not but that just isn't me. It really, truly isn't. I like posting pictures of my "non brand name" "non designer" everyday outfits along with completely irrelevant text. It's like sweet & sour chicken. Two things that shouldn't go well together but do. Outfit photos+completely random stories. That is my blog. That is how I like it. Aaaaalso I totally left my hair completely alone for this shoot. No extensions, no styling, no anything other than a brush through. This is it in it's natural curly state. It is poofy and fluffy and most days I can live with that and actually like it but not today. Today I see it and I'm like, "Eh, I shoulda styled that". Oh well, let's just pretend it actually looks cool, kay? Kay.

We all know Thanksgiving is pretty much right around the corner and let's be real we're all probably going to eat waaaaay more rolls than we should. Buuut, I mean, should is a relative word, right? Let's just eat a thousand rolls and say we didn't, deal? Deal. Either way, Thanksgiving dinner is all about cozy outfits that will look cute & warm but won't make you look fat after you eat all dem rolls. That's what I was trying to go for with this outfit and I have to say, an over sized sweater dress is THE perfect way to look cute in something that will hide your post dinner "roll pooch". Also, this shrug from OASAP is like the coziest thing ever and it instantly dresses up any outfit without looking too fussy! I've pretty much worn it a thousand times already! Also, over the knee socks. Dudes, they are bomb. So cute, so cozy, so perfect! Also, do like they do in How I Met Your Mother and make yerselves a TurTurKeyKey! ;)

Much love!

Holiday Guide

Holiday Guide: Sequins

With the holidays just right around the corner (can you believe it?! This year has FLOWN by!) I thought I'd start putting together some shopping guides for you all to get the juices flowing for ideas on gifts for family or friends and ideas for what to get for yourselves for the season's must-haves! I thought I'd start off with a shopping guide for sequins because year after year sequin pieces are the go to items for Holiday wear, whether it's a sequined dress for the various Christmas parties we all commit to or a sassy pair of sequined pants for a fun NYE look! Even if you feel a pair of gold sequined pants is too much for you there are SO many smaller and equally as cute ways to incorporate sequins! Aerie has got THE cutest sequined accessories right now ranging from cute sequined bralettes that are great peek-a-boo layering pieces to cute sequined infinity scarves that are a great way to add a mild pop of sequined fun! Not to mention those cute sequined undies (not that anybody would see them, but whatever, you'd know you're wearing them and I guarantee they'd make you feel more sparkly!). Anyway, down below I'm going to link some more of my sequined faves including blazers, dresses, pants, etc! Aaaaaand I won't lie, some  of those items may already be on their way into my closet via UPS. ;)

I hope you all enjoy my picks and get yerselves some sequined magic! Aaaaand don't forget that Forever 21 is offering free shipping on any purchases at or above $30 and they've got a stellar 50% off Fall pieces sale going on that you won't want to miss!

Much love!

Remember Remember the 5th of November

Guys, Christmas season is pretty much upon us!! I'm SOOOOO excited about it! Christmas is my favorite time of year, you guys! It makes me so crazy excited and giddy, I love it! Also, also, "Selfie", you guys! Are any of you watching it?! If you aren't, START. It's so crazy good and I think I'm a little bit in crush with Henry. Aaaaaalso, yesterday was November the 5th! Do you all know what that means? It means it was Guy Fawkes day in England which means it was watch "V for Vendetta" day for me here in the U.S. Holla!!! Also, Tuesday was Election Day and I hope you all took the time to vote, it's important! I'm preeeeeetty unhappy with the results overall as well as the results in my state but whatevs, ce la vie, we can't have it all.

I'm totally not usually the body-hugging-clothing-wearing type of girl because although my jeans may say zero nobody seems to have told my butt and hips that because I've got birthing hips ready to pop out a 9lb baby and a bootay that's freakishly out there. One of my fellow blogger pals convinced me to just go for it with this dress, though, so I took her advice and took the plunge. Let me tell you all, it was scary. I'm still even kind of nervous posting this outfit because of how booty toochy (thank you Tyra for coining that fabulous phrase!) these photos are. Even, though, I'm still a little nervous about wearing such a booty toochy dress, I do have to say the dress itself is pretty fab! It's crazy soft, and I love it's color! I feel like it'll be perfect for Winter (dare I even speak of that horrid season?). Do you all remember the boutique I mentioned in Monday's post? Well, this dress is another gem from that boutique! If you're a Utah local check em out!

Much love!
