Get the London Look

I had this really weird dream the other night that I got married in a parking lot. Strangely enough, in the dream, I thought it was wicked cool. Until, a friend turned up and told me it was super lame and then dream me proceeded to get thoroughly upset. Dream me is quite the sensitive gal, no? Easily upset she is. 'Course, so is real me. ;) I finished re-reading the Harry Potter series last night. Sigh, I looooves dem books. If you couldn't tell, this outfit was heavily inspired by the Potter Man. ;) Also, is it lame that I still completely SOB when Hedwig, and Dobby die? Seriously, whenever I get to, "Here lies Dobby, a free Elf." I loose my marbles. Not even kidding. I get all, "DOBBYYYYYYYY!!! WHYYYYY?! WHYYY??? Not Dobby! Why'd ya have ta take Dobby, J.K., WHY?!". Man, I really am weird. Ah well. Also, if you couldn't tell by the weird state of my eyebrows, I am currently growing them out. I'm lettin' those babies get as fuzzy and chunky as possible. Which SHOULD mean that I'm taking more time to fill them in a lil' bettah, but, come on ;), come on ;), this is me we're talking about. Dat wadn't gonna happen. Y'alls will just have to forgive their creepy state in these photos. On the plus side, after seeing them in these photos I decided I will fill them in so they don't look quite so creepy.

If you have been following along with this blog at all, then you know that I have a crazy-weird-fan-girl-status obsession with England. Don't ask me why because I couldn't really tell you. Although, admittedly two of my big reasons for being infatuated with the place are Pride&Prejudice and Harry Potter. Weird reasons, right? Anyway, when I saw this cardi at a bohme clearance sale I knew it HAD to be mine. HAD to be. Anyway, in the spirit of all things British I decided to pair it with my Big Ben London tee. Also, I figured "edgy" would be the rule of the day so I decided to top it all off with my go to AE high waisted skinnies and my biker booties. Also, whenever I wear this t-shirt all I can think of is those Revlon commercials that say, "Get the London look."

Much love!

Goo Goo

With all of the hub ub that went on last week I don't think I ever really got a chance to thank you all for your lovely birthday wishes! You guys are seriously the bestest! In fact, you're all so great the use of non-words like "bestest" becomes absolutely necessary. ;) I was seriously spoiled. I have the best friends, family, and readers a girl could ask for! I think my sister took home the cake, though, present wise. She got me...now, get ready for this because it's huge...GOO GOO DOLLS CONCERT TICKETS!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! I don't know if I've ever mentioned that The Goo Goo Dolls are one of my top five favorite bands, but they are. They're on my "See in Concert Before I (Or They) Die" list. I've been pretty much obsessing over them, particularly their song "Name", since I was four. Now, the concert isn't actually till July, but I'm pretty much going to be squealing the entire time till then. I will also be taking every precaution to make absolutely sure that I don't die before July 17. After that, well, if I die I'd die happy. Well, semi. I still need to see U2, and Mana before that can happen, #crazyfangirlstatus. ;) Also, I didn't want the Spring blooms to sneak up on me this year, so I've been keeping a close eye on EVERY. SINGLE. TREE. on my block. Well, more like every tree I see on the regular. I feel like every Spring I go to sleep one night, with not a bloom in sight, and wake up the next day to trees full of flowers. That's why this year I'm watching those tree's every move. ;) Nothing's getting by me. In fact, I can already see teeny tiny little buds on most trees, so I predict we'll be getting some nice Spring blooms any day now.

Now, you know one of the best parts about birthdays? Well, I mean besides all the sweet yummies, obviously. It's the presents. The presents, the presents! We all know it. ;) Anyway this purse was a prezzy. Is it ok if I make that a thing? Can we all just start saying prezzy as a shortened version of present? No? Totally lame? It's ok. I understand. ;) Anyway, how awesome is the purse? I'm totally and completely in love with it!!! The color, the size, the shape! Best prezzy ever. ;) It's the perfect subtle Spring accessory. This bird/floral printed scarf is pretty great too. I got it ages ago at h&m but I'm never short of an opportunity to wear it. Also, I know I wear my London tee alllll the time, but I just think a classic black and white graphic tee is so versatile. It really is a closet must. These flats were also an early birthday gift and I've pretty much been wearing them everyday since I got them. Their shape is awesome and I love that they aren't like traditional flats that cover all of your feet, the little peek a boo sides are great.

Much love!

the bom DOT COM

Guesssssss whaaaaaaat? I am O-fficially a DOT COM! Woo, Woo! None of that silly .BLOGSPOT.com anymore, I am now just a nice and solid .COM! :) I'm preeeeeetty dang proud, if you couldn't already tell by my dedicating this whole post to the subject. ;) Oh, and, what's that you say? I wear this t-shirt entirely too much and I wear this skirt every other Sunday? Well, you're right. I do. But I mean, that's a sign of a quality closet item, right? Money well spent folks, money well spent. Also, these bronze snake skin pointed toe pumps? They were my first ever pair of heels! Hard to believe right? It's true, though, I got them all of a whole 8 years ago! Back when I was a wee lil' 14 year old. :) Man was that an awkward year! My nose was entirely too big for my face (it's crazy how fast that thing grows when the teen years hit;) and I was a total poofy haired brace face! It was a great year, though! I made some great life long friends, I was crazy obsessed with old school rocker Shakira, and I was consuming about ten PB&J's a day! Mmmmm, PB&Js. Sugar, carbs, and nutty goodness. Best combo ever. Also, the fact that these have fit my feet since then is just a tad disappointing because that means that my feet, and all of the rest of me too for that matter, haven't grown since then. Boo. That means I hit my ripe old height of 5'3 (debatably 5'2 at the doctor's office) at the age of 14. Also, I was craving another Pride&Prejudice read, but as my sister always tells me it's quickly becoming the only book I ever read I decided to go with another page tearing read of Persuasion. Ya know, just for a little variety. ;)

Now, I just want to quickly thank all of you lovely, lovely readers for following along thus far and just being all around amaze-balls! I know a lot of people hate that word, but what can I say, I like weird annoying words. ;) Now, don't forget that the last installment of the Blogging Essentials Giveaway will be going live on Wednesday, and the prize will be STELLAR! You won't want to miss it! Also, the winner of the $160 ASOS gift card will be announced on Thursday! Also, I'm thinking of putting together a Blogging 101 series, involving how-to's on how to make quick design updates to your blog (making social media buttons, quick headers, etc) and quick tips and tricks to running/growing a blog. Thoughts? Yay, nay, whatevs?

Much love and virtual hugs for being the best readers ever!

Like a London Chap

So...I'm wearing my London tee again, and the burn on my forehead is as poopy brown as ever. ;) But, hey, I mean, poop brown forehead smudges that resemble skin cancer are totally hot, right? Totally. ;) Ah well, I've always been a big fan of scars anyway, adding another to my vast repertoire is actually a positive thing in my book. I was going to make this whole post about how in love, nay, obsessed I am with England but I mean, how many times can you all really hear about how once upon a time I became enchanted with a story about a boy wizard, then fell in love with the gent to end all gents, Mr. Darcy, read every single book by a certain young lady, sir name Austen, felt all female empowered when I read the romance of a certain Miss Eyre, and was completely entranced by every thing from the music down to the scenery of the 2005 version of P&P? I think the, oh, bazillion, times I've already talked about this probably suffices. I will say this, though, my heart belongs at Pemberly, my last name should be Darcy (or Bingley, I'm not picky;), I deserve to have magical powers and be the ginger best friend of a one Mr. Potter, and I, and every female in the world for that matter, deserve to have one off the charts romantic letter a la Persuasion written to us. Also, I look like a London chap. Yes, I'm calling myself a bloke. I mean, I'm wearing plaid, grandpa loafers and leather-ish pants. If that isn't what a London chap dresses like, than I don't know London (I don't).

Oh, and, guys? My novela (Spanish soap-opera) ended! Boo. ;( I hate when my novelas end! Also? Now that I'm older, I can fully appreciate just how cheesy novelas are. I mean, people get ACID thrown in their faces. ACID. People get beheaded, tortured, kidnapped on the regular, fall in and out of love, come back from the dead (at least once), and have some sort of debilitating facial deformity that somehow manages to get fixed with some sort of miraculous surgery that makes them beautiful...but I like the cheese. The Chad likes the cheese. The Chad likes the cheese. Sorry, lame Charley's Angels reference, I know.

I know I've already said this, but I'm just SUPER stoked that the 90's have made their comeback. Super. Now that I'm not between the ages of 0-7 I can fully appreciate half ponytails, leggings, shirts/sweaters tied around my waist, and knee high socks. I mean, back in the day, the only reason I wore a sweater tied around my waist was for the convenience of having somewhere to tie it around when I got hot. ;) Also, I LOVE these sunglasses! I love how bright they are and that they change from blue/green to blue/purple, depending on the light. Well, I'm off, mother nature has delivered me her monthly uterus punch and I require lots and lots of tea & cookies, and ice cream to make a full recovery from wanting to spend my entire day doing this...

Much love!

P.S. This is what happens when you try to explain to your kid brother exactly what portion of your body a close up should encompass. Also, I swear I shave, those are just the hollows of my pits, not crazy long hair. ;)

I See London, I See France

Taking photos outside of a French bakery wearing a London t-shirt? Tsk, tsk. I'm a cheeky lil' bird (that's slang for girl in London;) aren't I?  I actually heard of this bakery through a fellow blogger and friend, Gentri, who, coincidentally, is moving to DC in the next few days. ;( She will be missed! She was one of my first blogging friends and she is seriously one of the sweetest and genuinely nice people I've had the pleasure of meeting! Without her, I don't know how I'll ever be informed of the various blogging get togethers going on! Miss you already Gentri! The bakery, though? AMAZING! Not only is it totally adorable and chic, inside AND out, it's pastries are to die for! I stopped in with my sister during a short break from work and we tried a couple of the sweets...heaven in our mouths! Next time we go in, we decided that we're going to stay for a full sit down meal. Their sandwiches looked delightful, the pizzas looked scrumptious, and the teas sounded mouthwatering! Plus, what's cuter than a French bakery aptly named Boulangerie? Nothin' I tell ya.
Also, I've decided that I need to start brushing up on my French again. I mean, now, all I can remember how to say with a perfect accent is the French National Anthem and "Mon reve familier" by Paul Verlaine. And what use is that? I mean, if I actually went to France I couldn't get by only knowing those two things. I mean, people would think I was a loon, my response to everything would be to start singing their anthem at them or start reciting poetry. But, eh, maybe another day I'll finally start practicing. In other news, my little sister is officially in Canada! Oh, what an adventure! She looks absolutely stunning in the pictures she's sent and the weather over their resembles the inside of a Snowman's butt crack. Snowy, white, and frozen.

If you'll remember, I got this cardi and this t-shirt when I fell off the "no shopping" band wagon at the beginning of the month. Although I regret having fallen off the band wagon, I'm admittedly enthralled with both pieces. Mostly because pink cardi's are a closet must and well, I'm just obsessed with dem Brits and anything to with their beautiful cheeky selves. ;)

Much love!
