Trend Alert: The Folded Over Tote

These photos are so funny to me because right as Shailynn and I were shooting them a group of teenage girls stopped on their way into the theater to stare at us. Now, that in and of itself isn't too funny, the funny part was that as they stood their staring they started whispering to each other, "Is that Kylie Jenner?"..."I think it is, look at her hair. It's the same color."..."Should we say something?" This was mainly amusing to me because Kylie is about a good 7 inches taller than me, 5 years younger (she's 17, can you believe it?!), and her hair is currently blue/green, not purple. Sad that I know all this? Probably. Buuuut, I did confess to you all that I'm a closet "Keeping up with the Kardashians" fan. "Don't judge me, Lizzy. Don't you dare judge me." Sorry, I just had to throw in that Pride & Prejudice quote because it fit so well, don't you dare judge me for my like of that silly reality TV show, you guys, don't you dare judge me. ;) There are so many things on my to do list, and so many "just-for-fun" things that I'd like to do this week. Mostly little social outings that would very likely involve making possibly important connections and yet alls I wants to do is procrastinate it all, stay at home, and watch The Mindy Project. I'm so bad. Mostly, I'm just suffering from mild cold symptoms and I would like to stay snuggled until I feel better.  Anyone want to take care of all my business for me so I can chill at home? Eh? Eh? Any takers? Didn't think so. ;)

I don't know about you guys, but I follow MadeWell's blog on Bloglovin' (it's really quite good and you should all follow it) and one of the trend's they predicted for this Fall season was the "Tote as a Clutch" trend. I decided to try it out and I'm totally digging it. I feel like it just has a way of making an outfit look instantly more chic and it's easy as pie all you have to do is take any old tote bag, I used my "baby-poop-smell" one, and fold it in half letting the shoulder straps hang loose. Bam. Insta glam. Insta updated trend. Also, plaid and booties. If they don't scream fall then I don't know what does. Also, happy first day of Fall!!! Yay!! It is O-ffically my favorite season of the year now! Which also means that four days ago I turned 22 and a HALF! Carazzy? Mmm, yes. Anyway, I'll link some totes I'm lovin' down below so you can all get yerselves one to try out the "tote-clutch" trend!

Much love!

Spaceman Says Everybody Look Down

MAJOR points to anyone who can tell what band t-shirt I'm wearing and knows what lyrics the title of this post was made after!! Seriously, if you know, you are an awesome human and we need to be best friends, like, stat!! Anyway, I've been revisiting oldies but goodies this past week. Both in my choice of Netflix binges and obsessive book readings. Netflix wise, I've been turning to "The Justice League". Admittedly because I heard my sister re-watching it and so I of course had to follow suit. I'm a comic/super hero geek all the way so no judging from the peanut gallery about the fact that I'm obsessively watching cheesy cartoons night and day. ;) I'm also a die hard DC girl. Pooey on Marvel. Pooey. Although, I have to admit, I do have a major soft spot for the classic "Spidey and Friends" cartoon and "The X-Men"...but that'll be our little secret. Shhh. Tell no one. ;) Book wise, I've started re-reading "The Mediator" series by Meg Cabot. Before we continue, though, can we just get an amen hallelu for Meg, queen of all teen literature? Amen hallelu, Meg! Holla to ya sista. I mean, I honestly thought I wouldn't enjoy teen fiction as much now that I'm 22 but The Mediator is still just as good now as it was when I first read it at 13. Maybe it's because technically I'm not even an adult yet. They say that the brain and body doesn't really mature into the adult stage of life till 25, so I've still got another 3 years of being a kid! Whoop, whoop!!

We've been having some pretty nutso weather here in Utah. Sunshine, rain, sleet, hail, SNOW, and back to sunshine all in one day. Nothin' new for Utah I guess. :) Anyway, even though it IS technically Spring the weather doesn't always cooperate with us, so for that reason, this week I'm bringing you all chilly weather wear! We're kickin' off the week's chilly weather outfits with these moto boots! Seriously, you guys, motorcycle boots are def a trend to try! They're comfy, edgy, and just a little bit...dare I say it...cool! Not to mention that they're SO versatile. I mean, pair 'em with jeans and you've got an edgy biker/punk look BUT, pair 'em with a lacey tunic dress and you've got yourself the ultimate cool girl juxtaposition!! Not to mention that they make my need to cuff my jeans look a LOT cooler! Basically, these boots are magical and can make even the geekiest of girls (meeeee) look cool. Not that I ever aspired to that or anything, but we're talkin' James Dean kick some hard core butt "cool", not snootty queen bee "cool". Also, band tees? How awesome are they? Want to amp up the unique factor in an outfit? Throw on a band tee! I love that my little sister has LITERALLY bought a t-shirt at EVERY SINGLE concert we've been to! It's the best, I need to start following suit! Now, just because I absolutely CANNOT resist quoting some more Killers, "Run neon tiger, there's a lot on your mind, they'll strategize and maim you, but don't let them tame you. You're far too pure and bold". Be bold my Neon Tigers!! Rawwr! Ok, that was lame. Who do I think I am, Lady Gaga? My apologies. ;)

Much love!

P.S. "Comin' out of my cage and I've been doin' just fine. Gotta, gotta be down because I want it all...Destiny is calling me, open up my eager eyes!" Sorry, had to do it. Those Killers are lyrical genius' (mostly Brandon). How they slay me. Pun intended. ;) Who am I kidding? My puns are always intended. :)

Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

These pictures are really funny to me. Mostly because I can never pull off the "serious" look without looking like a derp. Seriously. Whenever I attempt the "serious" look I mostly just end up looking like I've got a lazy eye, like I'm severely constipated, or both. That's why these pictures are funny to me, because for once I managed to pull off the "serious" look without looking like any of those things...I hope. ;) I think the trick was these sunnies. I'm sure if there was a way to show what my eyes look like behind the sunglasses in these photos you'd see what I mean about looking like a constipated derp. ;) I watched Frozen on DVD with my pops last night and it was so fun. I had already seen the movie in theaters with my sissys but there was no way I was going to pass up a chance to watch it with my dad. I know there has been some serious debate over Frozen, but honestly? I don't really currr. I liked it, and the way I see it, it's just a cute movie about the power of sisterhood. And. I. Love. Sisterhood. :) Anyway, watching it with my pops took me back to the good old days when, together with my sisters, we would watch ALL of the Disney classics for hours at a time. Twas the best. I mean, he watched hours of froo froo princess movies with his three girls and genuinely loved it. I love my dad. :)

The last few days here in Utah have been crazy windy and rainy. It's kinda sucked, actually. Don't get me wrong, I love to run in a good summer rain, but it isn't summer and it isn't nearly warm enough for the rain to be very enjoyable yet. Anyway, chilly Spring weather calls for cozy sweatshirts, like this star studded one, skinny jeans, and chilaxed sneakers. And yes, I just said chilaxed. I know, I know, that hasn't been a thing since like, 2002, but I think we all know I'm pretty outdated when it comes to my vernacular. ;) Also, I can't even believe it's already April! I mean, what the swa swa? Where did all the time go? I feel like it should still be December! Eek!

Much love!

Goo Goo

With all of the hub ub that went on last week I don't think I ever really got a chance to thank you all for your lovely birthday wishes! You guys are seriously the bestest! In fact, you're all so great the use of non-words like "bestest" becomes absolutely necessary. ;) I was seriously spoiled. I have the best friends, family, and readers a girl could ask for! I think my sister took home the cake, though, present wise. She got me...now, get ready for this because it's huge...GOO GOO DOLLS CONCERT TICKETS!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! I don't know if I've ever mentioned that The Goo Goo Dolls are one of my top five favorite bands, but they are. They're on my "See in Concert Before I (Or They) Die" list. I've been pretty much obsessing over them, particularly their song "Name", since I was four. Now, the concert isn't actually till July, but I'm pretty much going to be squealing the entire time till then. I will also be taking every precaution to make absolutely sure that I don't die before July 17. After that, well, if I die I'd die happy. Well, semi. I still need to see U2, and Mana before that can happen, #crazyfangirlstatus. ;) Also, I didn't want the Spring blooms to sneak up on me this year, so I've been keeping a close eye on EVERY. SINGLE. TREE. on my block. Well, more like every tree I see on the regular. I feel like every Spring I go to sleep one night, with not a bloom in sight, and wake up the next day to trees full of flowers. That's why this year I'm watching those tree's every move. ;) Nothing's getting by me. In fact, I can already see teeny tiny little buds on most trees, so I predict we'll be getting some nice Spring blooms any day now.

Now, you know one of the best parts about birthdays? Well, I mean besides all the sweet yummies, obviously. It's the presents. The presents, the presents! We all know it. ;) Anyway this purse was a prezzy. Is it ok if I make that a thing? Can we all just start saying prezzy as a shortened version of present? No? Totally lame? It's ok. I understand. ;) Anyway, how awesome is the purse? I'm totally and completely in love with it!!! The color, the size, the shape! Best prezzy ever. ;) It's the perfect subtle Spring accessory. This bird/floral printed scarf is pretty great too. I got it ages ago at h&m but I'm never short of an opportunity to wear it. Also, I know I wear my London tee alllll the time, but I just think a classic black and white graphic tee is so versatile. It really is a closet must. These flats were also an early birthday gift and I've pretty much been wearing them everyday since I got them. Their shape is awesome and I love that they aren't like traditional flats that cover all of your feet, the little peek a boo sides are great.

Much love!

Nessun Dorma and Derpy Weeks

Sometimes I have these ideas in my head for posts that I think will be fun, or entertaining, or just be...I don't know, cool maybe? Sometimes they don't really turn out that way, though. In fact, here are some of the ideas I had swirling around my head for today's post that seemed cool, or what not, but are probably just boring. The fact that I have recently rediscovered my passion for Opera, more particularly my obsession with Luciano Pavarotti and his rendition of "Nessun Dorma" and Sara Brightman and Andrea Bocelli's rendition of "Time to Say Goodbye". I love 'em. Juuuuuuust love 'em. Actually, if someone (a date of the handsome, tall, bow tie wearing, male variety preferably) were to take me to see "Turandot" at La Scala Opera House in Milan, Italy my dreams would be fulfilled. Well, see, that was idea number one and that only took a couple of sentences to discuss and was probably more boring than waiting for nail polish to dry.
Now, idea number two. Ever have one of those weeks when your hair just refuses to do what you want it to or just even look good? Or one of those weeks when your makeup just refuses to come out the way you want it to no matter how hard you try? OR, OR, one of those weeks when your face just looks totally weird/derpy and completely unattractive? For me, this week was ALL three of those combined, probably because last week was a perfect hair and makeup week. I guess it's just like that rule that what goes up must come down. A week of perfect hair and makeup must be immediately followed up by a week of ugly hair, makeup, and face. Blehhhhhhh. Let's hope next week is neither spectacular nor horrible in the hair and makeup department. I'm aiming for completely average, here. Let's balance these scales. ;) Whelp, that was idea number two. It was slightly more relatable and more entertaining, but it still wasn't a mind blowing piece of art, either. Oh well, I have an idea for a more spectacularly written post for Monday anyway. :)

Oh, and guess what? ANOTHER outfit that's primarily from h&m. Is it sad to mourn a store? ;) In other news, though, my sister leaves for Canada in 10 days! TEN! We're working on memorizing the lyrics of "Lets Go to the Mall" from How I Met Your Mother in honor of all things Canada. ;)

Much love!
