Steal My Sunshine

GOO GOO DOLLS, you guys, SIX more days! SIX more days till I see one of my all time favorite bands in concert! Yipp, yipp! I have the best big sister ever; she seriously got me THE best birthday present EVER by getting us tickets! Also, you guys, do any of you remember that one, "Steal My Sunshine", song from the 90s? I've been listening to it recently, and I luuuuuurve it! I was telling my little brother that it's like the song of my babyhood and he was like, "No it wasn't. It can't have been. You were at least FIVE when it came out. You were a small child by then, not a baby." Whatever. Little brother's are so annoying sometimes. ;) Why do they have to get all technical all the time? Anyway, I just told him it still counted as the song of my babyhood anyway because I was basically reborn when we came here so five for me was really more like one. ;) Sighhhhhh, music of the 90s, yo. They really knew how to do it right. Also, talk about decade of major one hit wonders! I swear there haven't been as many one hit wonders since the 90s. They were all good little one hit wonders, though. No complaints from me. Also, BSB. I still looooove me some Back Street Boys. Dem homies taught me English. I kid, I kid. "101 Dalmations" did that. Again, kidding. Sort of. I actually really did learn English from music and Disney movies. They were some dang good English teachers. Except for the fact that I also happened to learn some choice swear words from dear old Alanis.

Remember how last post I mentioned that the Summer's insufferable heat wave had finally hit? Well, I love this shirt because it's so light and airy that it helps combat that. Except for when I unavoidably get sweaty anyway and I get major pit stains. Sooooooooo attractive. ;) Also, I'm OBsessed with this Agnes & Dora skirt!! It's another one I got from the shoot I mentioned last post, and I've already worn it about a thousand and one times! I've even posted another look with it here. It's just THAT awesome. Soft, light weight, and not so tight that you can see every cheek dimple. Heehee, cheek dimples, and not of the face variety. Heehee. On top of being a pit stained mess I am also oh soooo mature. ;) Anyway, that's it. Wear sunblock out of doors. Drink lots of water. Eat yurrrrr veggies. Listen to my best of the 90s playlist. (On shuffle. It's the only way to get the FULL experience;)

Much love!

3pm

What the what? A new post at 3pm? Yep. I just put off putting this together for you all until now, heehee. ;) I just unexpectedly took the day off and, well, days off have the tendency of making a person (me) get pretty lazy. ;) I did go on a speed run earlier, though, and I'm WIPED!!!! Also, July's heat wave has officially set in. Yuck. I seriously feel like I'm melting half the time, now. I guess that must mean I'm the Wicked Witch of the West or something. That is the witch that melts, right? I don't know. Anyway, I'm seriously bathing in sweat 80% of the day now. So gross, I know. I'm the kind of person who only thinks buckets of sweat is a good thing when I've got on a pair of gym shorts and a sports bra (and athletic top, of course, I'm not one of those "look-at-me-and-my-flat-belly-in-this-sports-bra" type of girls. Annoying little beezies), so the fact that I'm constantly sticky with sweat these days is highly irritating. Just another one of the many reasons I'm not a fan of the summer. ;) How are you all coping with the heat wave?

This hat has been heavenly these past couple of days! It seriously does such a good job of keeping the sun from hitting my face and manages to keep it relatively cool, which, is awesome since we all know how good I am at coping with heat. ;) Also, I'm loooooving this Agnes & Dora skirt that I got at a shoot I did with them last month. It's seriously SO soft. It feels akin to what I imagine it would feel like to have fuzzy puppies rolling around my legs!

Much love!

Hello My Name is Carl

Reason #108 why I don't like summer: The Butt Burn. You all know what I'm talking about. When you get into your vehicle after it's been sitting in the sun all day, and not only does it feel like a suffocatingly hot sauna, but the seats have gotten so hot they could serve as a stove top on which you could fry yourself up some eggs, hash browns, and bacon. Which, honestly, once yo buns hit that seat they in fact turn into the sizzling aforementioned bacon! Yee. Ouch. Don't even get me started on the pain of bare leg skin on hot LEATHER seats. Kind of makes you want to sing/yell, "My, butt is on fiyahhhhhhh!" to the tune of Alicia Key's "This girl is on Fire". Reason #109? I get tired ten times faster on my runs if I run anytime after 8am due to the extreme heat. That, and ninety percent of the time I forget water, so I have to quit after only a few miles because I don't want to die of dehydration. Anyway, that's my little shpeel on Summer for the day. Also, life is good you guys. Just when I think I've reached the point of giving myself an ulcer from stressin', the Lord pulls through for me (like always, I don't know why I stress at all, if I know God is on my side. I am lame.) I am a blessed human. I'm thankful for that. Oh, and as a completely unrelated side note, the stickers for the special license plates at work smelled like baby poop yesterday. The warm liquidy green kind, too. Yick. Also, why is awesomeness a word but liquidy isn't? That don't make no sense. FYI, "that don't make no sense" is a direct quote from "Baby Mama". Yes, I have 90% of the lines in that movie memorized. I'm pretty sure I could take over Dax Shepard's role and play Carl. I would be an AWEsome Carl.

I have a lot of outfit chitchat for you all today so let's just jump right into it. First, red and turquoise? My FAVORITE summer color combo! I love how they look together! Next, I bought this shirt 4 sizes too big. Yeah, I know, that sounds crazy. But I wanted a really relaxed loose fit that would look fun and slouchy and also be long enough to wear tied, like I did today. Also, two words: layered necklaces. I'm obsessed. I love layering different necklaces together, It just adds an effortless touch of chic to an outfit. Next, these sandals? I love 'em. I got them at an online shoe shop I found recently, ZooShoo. I may or may not have gone a little crazy and bought three, yes THREE, pairs of boots, and a pair of heels. I couldn't help myself, though, their shoes are CARAZY adorable and CARAZY affordable. I got, 40% off my purchase! They also carry brands like Steve Madden, Sam Edelman, Chinese Laundry, etc. Which, of course, are a little pricier, but still, they gots it all. Also, I'm currently really feelin' my soft indie music playlist. I've been jammin' out to it as I type. Every time an extra good song comes on, which is pretty much EVERY single one of them, I turn it up and think, "dis ma jam!" Which then causes me to giggle because who else in the world cranks up soft INDIE music and thinks, "dis ma jam", much less JAMS out to it? Only me...probably. Anyway, you all know how I love to share my music, so here is my playlist. Listen to it, love it, jam out to it. It has been the careful work and cultivation of years of music listening so it is dang well near perfect, in my opinion. ;)

Much love!

Rainy day Blues...

Posting in the middle of day? Yeah. I'm an awesome blogger. Awesome. The best. A'ight, enough of my self deprecating attitude. My blogging has just kind of fallen to the back burner this week, mostly because of the car accident. My back has been feeling like it's on the verge of snapping in two. No joke. That, and I keep getting infuriated by the whole situation and the injustice of the circumstances surrounding the whole stupid thing. It's enough to get me all huffy, puffy, moody, and not wanting to do much of anything but sit in bed, eat vanilla ice cream with fresh mangoes, watch The Mindy Project (which, last episode was AMAZINGGGGG!), and seethe. RRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Let's not talk about the fact that I'm seething, though. Let's move on to better subjects. :) First, I'm not usually one to wear heels on a day other than Sunday. Not because I'm not a heels wearing kinda gal but because I just don't think they're very practical for my day to day. That, and I have the feet of a pregnant woman. Seriously, they swell up to triple their size in about one hour of standing. And that's in flat shoes. I shudder to think how swollen they'd get wearing heels. Shiver. Anyway, I made an exception for these babies because they're just so darn cute. I kind of despised the whole thin strappy heel trend all of last year but this year I warmed up to them. They kind of remind me of the little high heels my Barbies would wear. :) Also, this whole week has been wetter than a Snowman on a hot July day. Seriously, yesterday's storms were ridic. I could barely see the ground in front of me from how hard it was coming down! I don't mind a whole lot, though, because it gives me an opportunity to use my lil' ol' trench. :) Anyway, you all know I'm a big playlist sharer, so I've got another one for you all! It's my rainy day, need to calm down from seething about injustice, swoon and wish I knew a hot musician playlist. Seriously, I love every single song on this playlist. Every single one. Happy listening!

Much love!

M.I.A

Sorry I have been M.I.A lately. Between my birthday, and starting a new job, that's right, a NEW JOB (more on that later), I have had like zero extra time. Zero. I've been napping it up more than usual, which for me just means that I've just been straight up napping (I never nap). New jobs are tiriiiiing. Anyway, I'm going to skip right over the typical "IT'S SPRING" post, because, well, you all own a calendar. And if even if you didn't the announcement has pretty much been all over bloglovin'. Sorry, that was kind of mean. I guess tiredness also apparently makes me a bit tart. ;) Anyway, stay tuned because I have got some FUN posts planned for you all next week. Fun outfit posts, and, AND, the "designing your own blog 101" tutorial I had promised you guys! Eep! Be on the lookout! Oh, and just because, here's an extra outfit post I had hanging around and just hadn't used!

Bubble Gum, Bubble Gum, In a Dish

Love blows. That is all. Just kidding. ;) I thought that for the actual day of Valentine's I'd go with a more "sarcastic" look, and what's more sarcastic than this crop top? This crop top and pair of heart shaped sunglasses are the last couple of things I got with my F21 gift card from Christmas. Now, even though, I love this outfit for Valentine's, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for anyone else. Well, unless your fella is good humored and into sarcastic t-shirts. ;) Also, anyone remember that little rhyme, "Bubble gum, bubble gum, in a dish. How many pieces do you wish?" I do. It brings back such fond memories of school yard fun. Sigh...to be a child. Being around my little cousin is really reminding me of how much I love kids. They're just the best and I just love them. Also, apparently, my little cousin is convinced that I'm Chinese. I thought, at first, that she only thought I looked Chinese because of my cat eye make-up but even without any make-up on she tells me she loves my pointy Chinese eyes. Go figure. :) She also tells me she likes me better without any make-up on, which she adorably calls paint, and that I look I'm 19. She knows exactly how to get in a girl's good graces. ;) Also, her little kisses? They're just the best. She gives the most delicate and intense kisses on the cheek EVER. If I could just keep her forever and tuck her into my pocket, I would. Also, I love how honest little kids are. Nobody tells it to you straight like a little kid or a drunkard. Although, it's much nicer when it comes from the former. :)
Also, I'm kind of in love with these sunglasses. I love that they're so bright and fun. I can't wait to wear them in the summer! Oh and just as a side note, I don't want you all to go off and think that I'm one of those resentful Valentine's Day celebrators. Vday is neither here nor there to me. I don't love it. I don't hate it. No resentment here. :) In fact, in honor of Valentine's Day let's celebrate how good Joss Christensen and Nick Goepper looked last night when they won Gold and Silver medals respectively. I know it's just the medals that are giving me goo goo eyes, but whatevs. ;)  Plus! Plus! They're 22, just my age. ;) Well, the age I will be in exactly three weeks and six days! Ahhhhhhhhh. Guys. I'm going to be 22! Someone pinch me. Can I just be five again? That would be nice. Ya here that, world? Let me be five again. Kay, thanks! ;)

Well, I hope you all have a fun day celebrating the ones you love! I will be spending my weekend having a fun night out with my home girls!

Happy Valentine's Day!

P.S. Love blows. ;) Also, can you all guess who my little photographer was today? My little love bug cousin Amy! I was just going to take them myself with my tripod, but she offered so I let her give it a shot. Let me tell you, for a seven year this girl is DOPE. She did a fantastic job. Also, she was hilarious. She was like, "Hold that pose! Hold on, I'm going to kneel on the ground for a better angle. Yep, yep, perfect. Move your arm a little bit. Do that other thing again. Alright, hang on, let me take some close up shots." It was hard not to giggle the whole time. I was also wishing I could have another camera myself to photograph HER photographing me. She looked ADORABLE. Look at this little Sass Monster!
