Summer Breeze

Guys, university is going to be starting up again in a few weeks! Ack! I'm actually pretty excited. Call me a nerd, but I love school! It's when I feel most in my element. I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune here, though, once midterms roll around. Also, I'm going to be up to my eyeballs in work, what with school work, work-work, blog work! I might have a seizure and all, but hey, life of a working university student, am I right? This summer has been pretty dang stellar, though. It's had it's life surprises, sure, but it's been good all around. Lots of pool time, convertible rides, canyon runs, and just all around goodness! Also, I might be hanging around Instagram a little more than this awesome space here so be sure you follow me, @cleverlycoy, to stay more up to date on life and day-to-day outfits! I'll of course continue to do updates here on the blog, because I like talking a lot..obvs;)..but the bulk of the action will be on good ol insta! Also, I'm going to start trying to spread my wings a bit and play around with doing more of just life-style types of posts a little on this space, so we'll see how that goes! Also, I apologize for the narrowness of the photos, I'm still playing around with some settings on my site!

Much love!

Lover's Point Beach Cove

Time for some Spring break recapping at long last! First things first, if any of you Utah local readers ever feel like making the trip out to the Monterey/Big Sur area be sure to FLY there. We decided to road trip and make a drive of it, and boy, oh boy, it was a LOOOOONG drive. Longest drive of my life. Thirteen hours to be exact! And 26 hours round trip! I seriously couldn't sit without discomfort for three days after we came back. I seriously thought I might have broken my butt or something, haha. Anyway, though, when we DID at last reach our destination we spent a glorious day laying out at Lover's Point Beach Cove (where these photos were snapped) and paddle boarding! It was such a warm sunny day; such bliss! None of us had ever been paddle boarding before, but it was surprisingly easy! I even managed to do some Yoga inversions on my board too! While we were adrift in the ocean we spotted some cute lil' sea lions and it was such an exciting/inspiring moment until we realized we had drifted a little to close to them. Next thing we know they've all leapt from their rock and have disappeared into the water somewhere. Of course, we start freaking out that the lil' suckers that we'd been "ooo-ing, and awww-ing" just seconds before were now under the water preparing to sneak attack us and eat us! Yes, I realize, how ridiculous that sounds but we were seriously freaked out and rowed away as quick as we could, haha! Sigh, the Lover's Point Cove was DIVINE, though. Seriously, one of the most scenic little beaches I've ever been to! And it was so surprisingly uncrowded! I loved that aspect! All the other beaches I've ever been to have been annoyingly packed but this cute little cove was nice and quiet! Oh, and don't get me started on the surrounding houses! Guys, they were SO dreamy! If I could afford one of those adorable beach houses I would buy it in an instant!

Tribal Print One-Piece: c/o aerie
Floppy Sun Hat: h&m almost exact

Aerie was awesome enough to send me this cute suit for my Spring break trip and, guys, it is seriously one of my new faves! I never thought I'd be one to be huge on one-pieces but this baby changed my mind completely! The fit is oh so flattering, super cute, and still SUPER flirty! I even sort of think it's flirtier than a two-piece! I mean, look at that back! And the tribal print on the front! Yum, yum! Aerie seriously knocked it out of the park, but then again, they always knock it out of the park with their swimwear! I honestly haven't bought a bathing suit anywhere else in a good five years! You should seriously all go check out their collection! They've got SO many cute suits! Seriously, I want all of them STAT!

Much love!

Hop on the Murrrrder Trainnnn! (HIMYM reference right thur)

I'm sitting here watching a murder investigation show with my mum and I'm struggling to find anything cheerful to say because all that's running through my mind is, murder, murder, MUUUUURDER!!! I actually used to hate murder investigation shows with a bloody passion. Haha, no pun intended. Actually, pun very much intended. ;) Also, is bloody a bad word? I don't know. Anyway, back to the cheerful topic we were discussing. I hated murder investigation shows, and that's pretty much the only type of show my mum likes to watch. Well, that and MMA fights. She is one heck of a woman, am I right? ;) Anyway, after about a decade of watching murder investigation shows with my mum (she started watching them a ton when I was about 12) they've finally sort of grown on me and now I too love to weirdly watch murder investigation shows. Things I've learned? First, runner's ALWAYS find the body or they ARE the body. Always. Sadly, this probably means that as a runner, at some point in my life, I will probably find a dead body or BECOME the dead body. This is why I need to learn a martial art, or marry a muscley beast who also enjoys running so we can go on runs together and he can kick any murderer's butt for me. Second, never give rides to strangers, especially strangers of the hobo variety. I kind of thought that one would be common sense to most people, but apparently not. Third, NEVER leave your group of friends at a concert. EVER. You WILL die if you do. Oh, and if you're a girl, your safest bet is just to suspect every male you encounter of being a murderer rapist. The store clerk, the cab driver, the rando you just passed on the street, alllllls dem guys. Suspect 'em. Now, someone give me a testify!

dress: ASOS
hat: h&m
bag: F21
sandals: borrowed from my sissy

Guyyyyyyys, I love dis dress. I love it. It literally fits like a white sack...but I love it. With Summer starting to come to a close I knew I wanted to take advantage of these last couple of weeks of super warm weather by pairing it with sandals (borrowed from my lovely sissy because I don't actually own any cute white sandals myself) and a nice straw sun hat! I also picked up these cute lil' blossoms for my mum and I just had to include them in the shots before bringing them home to her. Also, this new F21 bag is a fave. The rich cognac leather coloring of it is divine, and it is ENORMOUS! I am seriously going to be using it nonstop. It's only downfall? It smells like a baby took a nice poop in it. Of the soft green variety. Y'all know the kind I'm talking about. For some reason it's the stinkiest kind. Aaaand that's what this bag smells like. Don't know why, but it does. I'm hoping it goes away. Oh, and these photos? They were done by the adorable Caroline of Caroline Burke Photography! She is the cutest 15 year old EVER. And, yes, I just said FIFTEEN year old. Let that sink in. She's CARAZY talented, right? Talent knows no age, right? Check out her website, and IG and send her some love!

Much love!

P.S. If you want to understand the title of this post watch this video.

P.P.S. If you speak or understand Spanish then you ABSOLUTELY must watch this video about the disadvantages of being a girl. You will die. (of laughter;)

Ce La Vie

Does it feel like this year has just zoomed by? Or is that just me? Also, although, I don't really have a lot going on right now I'm pretty content with the calmness and simplicity of life at the mo. It's pretty nice. Also, as per usual, I had some wonderful idea for a funny post for you all today and now that I'm sitting here typing it's, *poof*! Ce la vie, right? The brain always seems to have room for endless amounts of song lyrics but when it comes to remembering anything even remotely useful it's just like, "Can't compute. Can't compute. System capacity full." The second you hear a song on the radio, though? Brain's like, "Ooo I like this jam. Let's memorize it, play it over and over again in our mind and make her want to strangle a puppy!" Alsoooooo, some of the leaves 'round my neighborhood are already turning brown and straight up falling. What up with that? It's the beginning of AUGUST for cryin' out loud!

shoes: h&m
bracelet: F21

I'm so, so, so, in love with this skirt! I luuuuuuurve the brightness of it and the gorgeous pleats! I've always said pleats in a skirt are the best thing ever! They just give 'em that extra level of swishyness that make skirts fab! Also, loafers and over sized tees are the PERF way to dress down an outfit while still keepin' it cute. I need to get me some leather loafers. Leather loafers are the stuff! Oh and these photos? I think they're some of my favorite to date! Rachel is preeeeeeetty cool! Check her out and if you're in need of any sort of photos hit her up! Also, I know this post was suuuuuuper short, but I gots some Harry Potter to read, so yeah. ;)

Much love!

3pm

What the what? A new post at 3pm? Yep. I just put off putting this together for you all until now, heehee. ;) I just unexpectedly took the day off and, well, days off have the tendency of making a person (me) get pretty lazy. ;) I did go on a speed run earlier, though, and I'm WIPED!!!! Also, July's heat wave has officially set in. Yuck. I seriously feel like I'm melting half the time, now. I guess that must mean I'm the Wicked Witch of the West or something. That is the witch that melts, right? I don't know. Anyway, I'm seriously bathing in sweat 80% of the day now. So gross, I know. I'm the kind of person who only thinks buckets of sweat is a good thing when I've got on a pair of gym shorts and a sports bra (and athletic top, of course, I'm not one of those "look-at-me-and-my-flat-belly-in-this-sports-bra" type of girls. Annoying little beezies), so the fact that I'm constantly sticky with sweat these days is highly irritating. Just another one of the many reasons I'm not a fan of the summer. ;) How are you all coping with the heat wave?

This hat has been heavenly these past couple of days! It seriously does such a good job of keeping the sun from hitting my face and manages to keep it relatively cool, which, is awesome since we all know how good I am at coping with heat. ;) Also, I'm loooooving this Agnes & Dora skirt that I got at a shoot I did with them last month. It's seriously SO soft. It feels akin to what I imagine it would feel like to have fuzzy puppies rolling around my legs!

Much love!

Marky Mark

Sooooo....I finished reading Pride & Prejudice...for the umpteenth time. I must say, it was just as captivating as the first, second, third...and hundredth time I read it. ;) Every reading of Pride & Prejudice must of course be followed by an immediate watching of the 2005 film version of the book. Yes, I realize what an immense nerd I am. Even amongst nerds I am considered an even odder sort of nerd. Anyway, I'm usually a huge fan of the 2005 film adaptation of the book, the actors, their portrayals of the roles, the MUSIC, my gosh, the music is DIVINE. Dario Marianelli is a musical genius. Anyway, this time around, I wasn't quite as captivated by the movie. The teeny little differences from the book and the fact that it moves so quickly kind of got on my nerves a smidge. The whole beauty of Pride & Prejudice is how long it takes for Lizzy and Darcy to come to terms with their love for each other. Aaaaand now I'm just straight up writing you guys an essay about Pride & Prejudice, which, actually, I was thinking this as I read it, "Man, I'd LOVE to write an essay about P&P. I know exactly what I would discuss, the points in the story I would dissect, the characters and symbols I would go over, etc. I'd love to have another go at an AP English Lit exam just for the joy of writing the essays." This is seriously a thought that I had. If that isn't enough confirmation for you all of how much of a nerd I am, more specifically an English Literature nerd, than I'm sure nothing else I can say will convince you all of it. ;) Also, I am currently hording "The Italian Job", "Flipped", and the complete Batman trilogy in my bedroom right now. I've already watched "The Italian Job", which, honestly, was only included in my DVD hording because I watched "Transformers" over the weekend (it was awesome and hilarious, albeit loooooong) and it got me hankering to see Mark Walberg, aka "Marky Mark", as a youngin'!

Now that I've probably bored you all silly with my raptures on a book that no one but myself cares a dime about, let's get onto the outfit! This dress is my "it" dress, you guys! Ya know, the kind of dress that the moment you put it on you feel instantly awesome? I've already worn it a good few times since I got it, and I will be posting two other ways to wear it in the coming weeks! When I saw it on Chic Wish's site I knew I had to have it! Not only did I fall in love with that stunning floral print, but I loved that it was purple, which, I'm very much sweet on this season! I know it's not quite "radiant orchid" but I'm crushing on any form of purple right now! Anyway, it is my belief that every girl needs, nay, deserves, an "it" dress so go check out Chic Wish's collection of dresses to get yoself one! I ordered mine in a size small and it was a touch too big 'round the waist, which consequently caused me to have to belt it which then caused it to be a tad shorter than I would've liked, as belting always does, so I'd order half a size smaller for this particular dress if I were you! Otherwise, though, Chic Wish's sizing is usually pretty accurate! Next, these shoes are SPECtacular, you guys! They're the ONE pair of shoes I managed to snag while I was in Vegas, and for a song too! I'm flippin' in love with them! They always make me feel like a dainty little ballerina when I put them on and they're so chic! Anyway, I've got my perfect "summer dress" look down pat now, thanks to these cute little items!

Much love!
