Nonsensical

You guys ever have that thing happen to you where your eye liner smears onto your eyelid for some freak reason? Yeah, well, this has been happening to me like EVERYDAY for the last couple of weeks and I can't figure it out. At first I thought it was just the type of pencil liner I was using, so I switched over to my cream eyeliner but it still kept happening so I switched over to my liquid liner thinking THAT would do the trick but NOPE, the smearing persists. I'm at my wits end and I'm about to just throw in the towel and quit on eyeliner again!! Unless, any of you have suggestions for me, eh? Eh? Anyway, now that that riveting discussion on liner has ended lets talk weekends. How were all of yours? Mine was pretty fantabulous! I binge watched Gilmore Girls so long Netflix felt the need to ask me if I was still there. Not even kidding. That is an actual thing. Netflix paused my episode and full on asked me, "are you still there?" Thank you for your concern Netflix, but yes I am very much still here watching Gilmore Girls. ;) Also, HAPPY CANADIAN THANKSGIVING!! I got the chance to celebrate the event with Lauren and a small group of other fun peeps. All in all, I think Canadian Thanksgiving is a fun old holiday! Also, in other news apparently "bollocks" is a bad word. Like, what the what? How can "bollocks" be a bad word? That doesn't even sound remotely bad! That's like making "puppies" or "fishies" bad words. It's completely nonsensical. You can't make something that sounds inherently cute a cuss word. It's just ridiculous.  I normally love the Brits but boy, did they drop the ball on that one. ;)

I have been DYING to share this coat with you guys ever since it arrived in the mail! I thought it's color was PERFECT for the Fall season not to mention it's cute little bow on the side! Plus it's like as soft as a babies bottom! It's also warm without being too stuffy, know what I mean? Pretty much, it' perfect. Also, I bought these over the knee boots at Forever21 about a thousand years ago and they're still one of my favorite purchases ever. Although, I'm thinking I'm going to be needing new ones before long because of how much I've worn them. In other news, I did a guest post on Gentri's blog yesterday so you should all go check it out. Ya know, since you all love me so much. ;) Anyway, yeah...

Much love!

Oldies

I saw the grossest thing at work the other day. I don't even know why I'm sharing it with you guys because it was seriously disgusting. But, eh, I've never been one to be discreet on here so here goes. I was just being a good little ol' worker mindin' my own business when in walks this customer with a limp. I noticed he had an arm behind his back so I thought there might have been something wrong with his arm too. BUT, as he walked away I got a glance at his backside and his limp was being caused by a very thorough butt scratching!!! So foul, right?! I bet you all hate me now for sharing that lovely little gem! In other news, my yoga subscription ends next Tuesday and I'm thoroughly depressed! Boo! Also, I love old people. I really, really do. If it were solely up to me and not a little bit creepy all my best friends would be old people. They're just so dang nice, and equally as deaf, clueless, and slow moving as I am. ;)

I love, love, love, mixing textures and one of my favorite ways of doing that is by mixing denim with plaid! It's understated yet fun! If you're wanting to experiment with mixing textures this is definitely a mix to start you off with! It's also fun to do it with the plaid over the denim. I had also been dying to do another post with this lovely tulle skirt because I haven't worn it nearly enough!

Much love!

Happiest Place on Earth

Over the weekend I stored up some really nice stories that I wanted to share with you all, and they were some really good ones too, but now I can't remember any of them. Flim Flam. (That's a new catch phrase my sister came up with that means gosh dang;) Anyway, yeah...I don't know what to say to you all today. Other than...did you know that we all have little eye bugs living on our eyelashes?! Gross, right? You all definitely needed to know that. Anyway, wanna know where these photos were shot? I bet you'd never guess if I asked you to. They were taken at the DMV. Yep, that's right, I did a photo shoot at ma work place, the happiest place on Earth. ;) Don't we all just love the DMV? Heehee. In all seriousness, though, I really actually don't mind working there. I mean, the office is located right, and I mean RIGHT, at the edge of the mountain (which is why these photos are possible) and the building has ginormous windows so I get to look at the mountainside all day long and see all the beautiful deer families (I know that's not the technical term for them) grazing!

I've already mentioned various times my love for maxi skirts in the Fall but another love of mine in the Fall is re-purposing maxi DRESSES. My favorite way to re-purpose a maxi dress is by throwing a tee over it, tying a loose knot on it, and adding some simple accessories. It's such an easy way to throw together a relaxed outfit that was completely lazy in the making but doesn't look lazy. It's completely amazing and if you're looking for different ways to wear your closet classics then this is definitely a look you need to try! The dress I'm wearing above is actually a dress I bought last holiday season so it's been sold out for a while but I'll link some similarly fab options below! Also, I love how "whimsical-desert-wanderer" these photos turned out! Raquel really knows how to work her magic! As I always say, if you're in need of photos she is definitely another fabulous choice for you all to get in touch with!

Much love!

Liz On Top of the World

Hi guys! How were your weekends? Mine was soooo good! If you follow me on Instagram than you'll already know that my weekend rocked because of General Conference. For those of you who don't know what General Conference is it's a semiannual meeting of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, held every April and October during which we have the chance to hear the words of the living prophets! It really is so inspiring, uplifting, and comforting. I've never finished a session not having questions answered, fears quieted, and hurt feelings assuaged. If you're in need of any of these things as well, I invite you to not hesitate to stop by lds.org to seek the balm of the words from living prophets. I promise you, you will find comfort! The talks that stood out the most to me were Elder Oaks', Elder Klebingat's, Elder Holland's, and Elder Bednard's! Anyway, my spirit has been replenished and strengthened and I feel SO ready for this week! My spirit is pumped! Also, there's something to be said about spending an entire day in one's house completely make-up free, with sweats on, and a messy top knot. It pretty much rocks.

Guys, I really hope this doesn't sound cocky or anything, but I'm DYING over these photos! Not because of how I look or anything vain like that, but because of the COLORS, the COMPOSITION, the LIGHTING, my gosh! I got to meet up with the stupendous Raquel after General Conference on Saturday and snap these and I'm seriously blown away by how talented she is! Not to mention how incredibly friendly and fun she is! I love being able to get to know and work with fellow Latinas! It really is incredible how technology can bring people together. This year alone I've been able to meet and befriend so many amazing/talented people just through instagram! Sounds crazy, right?! Anyway, one of my favorite things about Fall is mixing and matching traditionally Summer pieces with Fall pieces like pairing a maxi skirt with a sweater! It is seriously one of my favorite things to do. It lets me lengthen the life of some the pieces in my wardrobe and keeps things feeling like they're new! Another one of my favorite things about Fall is wearing booties! Seriously, they're everything. There are so many different kinds of booties in terms of heel or no heel, color, cut, etc. The possibilities are endless! I picked up these nude ones at Aldo's (they were on clearance for $30!) and I've pretty much been wearing them non-stop. They go with everything and the chunky heel keeps them comfortable and practical! If you're in the market for a nude bootie (which, you should be;) I highly recommend these babies! They are unfortunately sold out, though, but I've linked the Target option below that look almost identical!

Much love!
