Nightmares and Head burns

I had the worst dreams the other night. Plus, they were creepy on top of being bad. The first dream was about...gosh this is embarrassing...Eminem. Yep. I had a nightmare about Eminem. My dream began thus. I was at a nighttime music festival with my sister. We had seen all of the artists that we liked so we decided to leave. Just as we were leaving we passed by the stage that Eminem was performing on. Right as we were passing, Eminem (who looked more Bradley Cooper-esque than like his actual creepy self) grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me up on stage. Dream me must've been majorly whacked on cotton candy or something because she was totally into it. Weirdo. Anyway, after Eminem's concert was over, he got my number (I have NO idea how dream me gave this to him willingly) and proceeded to send me flirty texts. I know. I know. Are you already vomiting in your mouth? I am. Then, in the dream, I felt guilty for flirting with Eminem (upchucking as I type this) because I remembered that he's married. Worst dream ever? Worst dream ever.
Now, onto the second dream! This one is pretty simple. I dreamed that all of my hair was falling out. In this nightmare, I dreamed that I was sitting at my kitchen counter with my mom when, all of a sudden, I noticed that there was a GIANT patch of hair missing on the right side of my head! I then proceeded to freak out and noticed that the more I freaked out, the more hair kept disappearing! By the time I managed to force myself to wake up, I had no eyelashes, was missing an eyebrow, and had only three strands of hair left on my head. I was almost in tears. Anyway, I think this dream was a form of a bad omen because when I was styling my hair that morning I burned my forehead. Pretty badly. Look closely and you'll notice a brown smudge on the top right (your left) corner of my forehead.  That's the burn.

In clothing related news, I'm digging these liquid leggings. I got them last summer and wore them twice. Now that I'm not shopping, though, because of my "Closet Challenge" (even if I've sucked this month) I'm finding myself wearing more of the things in my closet. In a way, I'm kind of shopping within my own closet. Anyway, I love these leggings because they're reminiscent of leather pants without actually costing the price of leather pants. Although, I do want an actual pair of leather pants. The past couple of days, here in Utah, have been really overcast and rainy/snowy so I've been sticking to purples and blues as far as color palettes go. No complaints here, though, I love me some good blues and purples! Although, I do wish that the warmer weather we'd been having would make a come back!

Much love!

I Saw the Edge of the World...

"In the moment when I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to defeat him, then in that very moment I also love him. I think it's impossible to really understand somebody, what they want, what they believe, and not love them the way they love themselves."

Straight from the 50s

There's nothing quite like family. Sorry to get cheesy on you all today, but it's true. I just love seeing my mom interact with her siblings! After spending a lifetime apart, it's just so great to see how they can so easily pick up were they left off and have SO much to talk and laugh about. It's the greatest, especially since their laughter is so infectious. I mean, put my mom in the same room as her siblings and it's like an instant comedy show. Sometimes I wish we all still lived in the same country. Family relationships are just irreplaceable, and everyday I'm more and more grateful that my mom encouraged my siblings and I to build a strong sibling bond. I love having that support system and the constant knowledge that no matter WHAT I have three constant best friends to count on. Plus, it's just fun having people who know EVERY SINGLE part of you...and still like you anyway.
Sunday was a super cloudy and mildly rainy day so I decided to go with darker colors. I love pairing plaid with denim. It's one of my favorite combinations! Denim shirt on top and plaid layered underneath OR plaid on top and denim underneath. Either way, I love it! I'm also very in love with this skirt from ChicWish. I got it sometime in November last year and I've been wearing it constantly ever since. It's just the perfect basic piece for Sunday wear. Not to mention that the shape and length are utter perfection! I've been really trying to work on my personal modesty, and this skirt is the perfect piece to help me do just that. Also, can you tell I didn't give a monkey's fart about doing my hair today? I was tired from a long week and I just honestly didn't give a toot about trying anything fancy, so I just threw it up into a ponytail on top of my head. Quick solution? Check! Never mind my flyaway baby hairs. ;)

Bubble Gum, Bubble Gum, In a Dish

Love blows. That is all. Just kidding. ;) I thought that for the actual day of Valentine's I'd go with a more "sarcastic" look, and what's more sarcastic than this crop top? This crop top and pair of heart shaped sunglasses are the last couple of things I got with my F21 gift card from Christmas. Now, even though, I love this outfit for Valentine's, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for anyone else. Well, unless your fella is good humored and into sarcastic t-shirts. ;) Also, anyone remember that little rhyme, "Bubble gum, bubble gum, in a dish. How many pieces do you wish?" I do. It brings back such fond memories of school yard fun. Sigh...to be a child. Being around my little cousin is really reminding me of how much I love kids. They're just the best and I just love them. Also, apparently, my little cousin is convinced that I'm Chinese. I thought, at first, that she only thought I looked Chinese because of my cat eye make-up but even without any make-up on she tells me she loves my pointy Chinese eyes. Go figure. :) She also tells me she likes me better without any make-up on, which she adorably calls paint, and that I look I'm 19. She knows exactly how to get in a girl's good graces. ;) Also, her little kisses? They're just the best. She gives the most delicate and intense kisses on the cheek EVER. If I could just keep her forever and tuck her into my pocket, I would. Also, I love how honest little kids are. Nobody tells it to you straight like a little kid or a drunkard. Although, it's much nicer when it comes from the former. :)
Also, I'm kind of in love with these sunglasses. I love that they're so bright and fun. I can't wait to wear them in the summer! Oh and just as a side note, I don't want you all to go off and think that I'm one of those resentful Valentine's Day celebrators. Vday is neither here nor there to me. I don't love it. I don't hate it. No resentment here. :) In fact, in honor of Valentine's Day let's celebrate how good Joss Christensen and Nick Goepper looked last night when they won Gold and Silver medals respectively. I know it's just the medals that are giving me goo goo eyes, but whatevs. ;)  Plus! Plus! They're 22, just my age. ;) Well, the age I will be in exactly three weeks and six days! Ahhhhhhhhh. Guys. I'm going to be 22! Someone pinch me. Can I just be five again? That would be nice. Ya here that, world? Let me be five again. Kay, thanks! ;)

Well, I hope you all have a fun day celebrating the ones you love! I will be spending my weekend having a fun night out with my home girls!

Happy Valentine's Day!

P.S. Love blows. ;) Also, can you all guess who my little photographer was today? My little love bug cousin Amy! I was just going to take them myself with my tripod, but she offered so I let her give it a shot. Let me tell you, for a seven year this girl is DOPE. She did a fantastic job. Also, she was hilarious. She was like, "Hold that pose! Hold on, I'm going to kneel on the ground for a better angle. Yep, yep, perfect. Move your arm a little bit. Do that other thing again. Alright, hang on, let me take some close up shots." It was hard not to giggle the whole time. I was also wishing I could have another camera myself to photograph HER photographing me. She looked ADORABLE. Look at this little Sass Monster!

Worse than Watching Nail Polish Dry

Guess who actually painted her nails today?! This girl, this girl! This is such a rare thing for me, it's pretty much a miracle. No joke. I rarely paint my nails, and when I do I'll usually just leave 'em until the paint chips off on its own. It's really actually kind of gross. I mean, we all know that feeling of being too embarrassed to let anyone see our hands because our nail polish is disgustingly chipped, am I right? That's pretty much the main reason I rarely paint my nails. I'm just too lazy to ever actually remove it properly, so for me, nail polish usually just ends up looking disgusting. Plus, that whole waiting for it to dry thing? It's the worst. It pretty much renders me a useless blob. I end up walking around like a zombie, with my arms outstretched and hands pointed straight forward for what feels like hours. Oh, and have you ever needed to pee while your nail polish was still drying? This seems to happen to me every. single. time. I paint my nails. I even try to avoid it by peeing before I start painting them, but nope. As soon as my nails are painted it's like they send an alert to my bladder that NOW would be the perfect time to let me know how much they care. Have any of you attempted to undo a button and a zipper with wet nails? It's pretty much like trying to get a puppy to move mid poop-squat because aforementioned puppy is about to poop on the lawn of the mean neighbor who never shares his peaches; it's basically impossible. Not that a puppy poop-squat situation like that has ever happened to me...(; Also, can we ignore the fact that the skin on my hands is similar to that of a wrinkly old lady and the general shape of my hands is akin to that of 100 year old corpse? Yeah, let's just all try and ignore that. Especially now that I've made it more obvious by mentioning it. ;)
This is my third "Valentine's Day Inspired" looks. I decided to go for something more casual, because, well, not everyone is a fan of dressing up. Plus, what's better than a "girl next door" look on Valentine's Day, am I right? I thought the perfect way to go for a dressed down Valentine's Day look would be to go with my broken hearts trucker hat. To girl it up a little bit, because it is still Valentine's Day after all, I paired it with my floral bodysuit. Which, I loving like to call my, "adult onesie". Which, honestly, IS pretty much all it is. On a side note about adult onesies, I was actually always adamantly opposed to them. I just didn't get the point in having a bodysuit when you could have a perfectly good shirt. Know what I mean? Well, when I used that F21 gift card that I had leftover from Christmas I saw this bodysuit that I just fell in love with and got. Later on, when I fell off the bandwagon over the weekend and actually spent my own money on a shopping trip, I saw this floral bodysuit and decided I was officially addicted to bodysuits and went ahead and got it. I now know what I've been missing out on, guys. Bodysuits are the perfect way to tuck in a top and have absolutely NO lines! Plus they stay perfectly and smoothly tucked the whole day, which is perfect for pencil skirts or trousers! Their only downfall? Yupp, you guessed it. Wedgie-mania. Also, they should start making them even more like actual onesies by adding those convenient snap buttons on the bottom, for more convenient bathroom usage. ;)

Also, it was a balmy 55 degrees the day I wore this outfit, so I wasn't actually very cold wearing these shorts. Although, I will admit, they're a lot shorter than I had realized. They still aren't by any means those teeny bopper shorts that are annoyingly all the rage right now, but I'd still like them to be a couple of inches longer. Maybe I'll just have to hack a pair of my little brothers old jeans and make my own perfect length boyfriend shorts. ;)

Much love!
